Question to anyone with Berk HFCs

Tony/Will/anyone who has (or had) the Berk HFCs...

I seem to have a "rattle" noise at ~3k. Has this ever been an issue for you? They were just installed today and I didn't notice it until after I had driven for several miles.

Ideas?

Is it a rattle or is it like a squeeking noise???
Does is sound like metal and metal rubbing against each other???
I installed my test pipes and i have the same problem... There is a metal shield i guess you could say that looks kind of like a U that protects the O2 sensors... It is held by 2 bolts, but in between the bolts there are some rubber washers and i guess if you dont put them right the metal will rub against the car metal and it will make that sound????...
Im almost 100% sure thats what it is..
I have not had the time to take it off but tomorrow morning i will... I will let you know if that fixed it !!

it is definitely a metal-to-metal sound. i have heard that some people have had the same issue, but that the problem was the stock heat shield.

if you fix the problem, let me know! thanks man.

well, i'm going to take it back up this friday to have it looked at. i'm convinced now that it's the heat shield, so we'll see if that fixes it. the sound is INSANELY annoying now...i can't give her any gas at all without sounding like a turd.

hmmm interesting. i have since taken mine off (since Cobb and myself could not figure out for sure where the sound was coming from). the guys at Cobb are convinced that the noise is coming from the flex joints in the Y, but this is an interesting theory.

really, i'm sick and tired of running back and forth up to Cobb, so i'm going to see if i can find a way to get the car up myself and see if i can give it a go. not sure if/when i'll be able to do it since i lack the proper tools right now, but we'll see.

thanks DC for the heads up, i'm glad you got your test pipes workin.

Yeah... Mine were installed in the back of a house w/ just a lowered jack.. That's all you need man.. You only have to lift one side of the front of the car as you go..

thanks yash, i might take you up on that. i know that the bolts will definitely not be a problem coming off since they have been off and on so many times over the last few weeks.

if anyone would be willing to lend a hand and/or expertise, i would greatly appreciate it. i'm in no rush at this point since they let me down the first time. a man can only take so much disappointment...lol.
