Yeah, don't go to the muffler shop.

I had a similar problem when I installed my HR Y-pipe. Luckily me and fobizzle were able to get them off, one in particular was a PITA.

The nut we actually had a problem with was somewhat smaller than the other nuts connecting the cats the DE Y-pipe, and looked to be a different metal, since it more easily stripped than the others. Sprayed some water on it so it could cool.

But patience isk key, if you have to, wait til tomorrow.

Actually, if the situation can use a normal socket, you should use that and not a deep socket. A deep socket can actually make it more likely for you to strip the head of the bolt or the nut if it's not required. It's simple physics as you're more likely not to stay straight on the nut/bolt...

But they make sockets to help extract these bad bolts. Got a nice Craftsman set in my garage

I had to go get a deep socket set cause the normal sockets wouldn't fit around the nut due to the bolt being too long.

It's been a headache!

A nice set of quality box wrenches should be in your b-day or Christmas list...

Ironically, the last time I had trouble with an exhaust bolt, I broke a harbor freight tool trying to get a bolt off. And that WAS a box wrench. Bent the sh*t outta that thing haha.

Also use a 6 point socket instead of a 12 point. less likely to strip the nut.

seriously?? If you need to bring it back buy let me know and we can re-burp again. I ran the car for 20 mins using my burper that I bought from Summit Racing. Shouldnt have any air bubbles at all.

Probably have to re-burp since the thermostat opened up now and allowed the coolant to flow through.

Also recheck everything in the engine bay to ensure you dont have any leaks...just look around and see if you smell anything.

I used the same burping system that stephen has...picked it up and have used it twice on my car without having a single bubble in the system...the downfall is that as we sat at the house for 20 mins letting it run we couldnt ever get the Thermostat to open up...It finally opened up on his drive home.

I burped mine last week with no problem.

Hoping to replace my clutch in the coming weeks.

I think and i was told from my research on this thermostat it just takes it a while to kick in, today on my way to work i drove pretty hard and it had kicked in before i hit the tollway. Temp rises then goes right back to where it normally is and is perfectly fine then-after. I don't think its the coolant sytem. No leaks. Guy i purchased it from warned of this as well. You can check it out tomorrow chris
