Is the oil consumption from the head? Thought it was from the piston rings being bad?

the TSB for OC indicates that it is a problem with the rings.

With knowing that short block or long block would be the same thing just more time for the tech to swap out the heads

take pics of your whole car in detail including all the parts before you take it to them to replace unless they have your car for good now......I dont trust them anymore now that Jeremya is gone......after my experiences with them romping on my car in the back lot with the supercharger that I had installed.....

I go into Sewell on Monday to see where mines leaking oil from after my block replacement. I had multiple problems with the dealership in Milwaukee who did my block replacement, hopefully I dont have issues down here in TX....

why waste your time with Crest? just go to Sewell or Grubbs... longer drive I know, but service far better than Crest could ever dream to be... worst Infiniti dealership in Dallas IMO... just remember, they are a sister dealership to Trophy Nissan if that tells you anything

Jared, u do know that the oc issue is in the bottom end of the engine right? That's what they are replacing by giving u a shortblock.

I'll have to join you Jared. I just changed my oil about 400 miles ago and now my dipstick is reading an inch and a half below where it is supposed to be. Wtf. Might be time to sell it.......if I can't get cleared with the stealerships. Should I demod everything before heading in for the OC test? It would be such a bittch.

And Jared, did they ask for your oil change receipts?

nope, showed them no receipts. after 1,000 miles after a fresh oil change i have about an inch of oil left on the bottom of the dipstick. I think the tsb says if your burning more than 6mm of oil (on dipstick) after 1,000 miles they will replace it. I was burning 18mm of oil..
