[DFW] What have you done to your G Today?
Love the design of the new Audi's but I can't see paying that much for a brand that is know to have major reliability issues.
EDIT:Not saying the g is perfect, but its a very reliable car.

I guess this is a good time to tell everyone that I am moving on from the G, and will be getting a new S4 assuming everything works out. De-modding starts this weekend.... As JBF said, I just think it is best to start with something that is faster out of the box versus dumping a bunch of money into my G. I can see the appeal to both, but I guess I am taking the easy way out (sorry, I am getting lazy in my older age). I've been rocking VQ's for the past 12 years, but there is just not a new Nissan product that I am crazy about other than a GT-R, and it is realistically a little out of reach (although, really tempting). I may also consider a used M3 if a good deal comes along, but at this point I think I have made my mind up on the S4. I have thought long and hard about it for the past 3 months....
noo! get a used m3!! Both cars are really nice actually, can't go wrong with either. I just think the m3 looks a little better and has a bigger modding scene. At least I would think.. But that really wouldn't matter if you're not going to mod it. Not sure if you are or not..

I like the M3 better overall, but there are a couple drawbacks. I would have to get a used one (probably 2009 or 2010), so it would only have 2 years of warranty. I can get a brand new S4 for the same price, and have the full warranty. The M3 also costs a lot more to mod in the long run for a lot less power (it does have more available mods for sure). The S4 can make about 400 AWHP/400 AWTQ with a tune, pulley, and exhaust (about $4000). The M3 can do about 360 WHP/260 WTQ with exhaust and tune, and other bolt-ons (at least $4000-$5000, or a lot more).
The B7 RS4 has a bad carbon build-up issue in the heads but Audi has given a lifetime "cleaning" of the heads since there is technically no fix for the problem.
A 4.2L V8 making 450hp is phenomenal...I guess carbon build-up is the tradeoff
Thought about the Boss 302 (I have a good Ford hook-up and can get at cost), but in the end I just don't think a Mustang is for me. I would like something a little more refined. I am not trying to sound snobby, but the Mustang lacks the overall refinement of a G, M3, S4, etc.... No doubt the 5.0/Boss is all the car, performance wise, that the M3 is for less money. If you are only looking at value and performance, the Mustang is a winner.
I looked at several cars, and it came down to these:
New Audi S4
New Ford Mustang Boss 302
Used BMW M3
Used Nissan GT-R
I looked at several others that were ruled out of final contention for one reason or another (Evo, STi, Cayman).

c63 amg
CTS-V sedan or coupe
GT-R
One of those will be my next car.. i want a sedan, so leaning towards c63. something about the new c63 couple black series too though..
whatever it is, it needs to have over 420hp. i can buy any of those if i got rid of both of my cars right now, but doesnt financially make sense.
i dont like euro cars, but that's my exception. with a good warranty of course.
audis are fun, but just feel too heavy to me.
the g35 was a great car to jump into performance world with. cant say i havent loved it, but yeah it was a stepping block. now i'm stuck with it since i still owe a lot on it. i want to pay it off and just keep it as a track car, but still got like 2 years left on it.. so meh.
