it was probably only a true hour job to remove and so forth.....I am going today to get custom stainless braided lines made that are flexible so that I can move them out of the way. Originally Posted by sexyrob

easy fix true but still probably 200-300 dollar fix unfortunately! Originally Posted by ezpotato

100.00 for new rack and pinion...probably 100.00 if not more for the new lines being made...

man look at the heat burns too... I can't imagine that helped with your power steering temps lol!
Yea, I know SS lines are obviously stronger, but I'm not sure they're going to disapate the heat like an aluminum line would. I could be wrong, just throwing that idea out there

they should be fine, we have a powersteering cooler built in. as long as its not taking in heat from the turbo shouldn't be a big deal.

james, tranny is getting fixed next week. 145$ in parts, but that includes strong pivot ball thing, SS clutch lines, and new tranny, clutch, and diff fluid. first time doing diff fluid.
plus labor, i'm out a few hundred bucks, but might as well do it right. Wish i had the $ for a new clutch and fw, but i'll just beat the crap outta my stock ones till they screw up.

Chris, you can cut and swedge the line rather than getting new lines made. It's much cheaper and will be less time consuming.
We did it all the time on the F-16 with 4000 psi hydro lines.

If you need local fluid courtesy nissan has a good price on Nissan MTF fluid just mention the online price or 350z discount. Diff fluid I used Mobil 1 but Motul is quality fluid along with royal purple. Also are you replacing the throwout bearing while you are in there and is Jake taking care of the install.Originally Posted by ezpotato
