I had it installed at Kustomz Unlimited in Garland back in February by Richard Wong. Everything was good for the first day.. Then I went to the car wash and lost signal in the car wash which is normal.. But then it never came back. I spent about a day on the phone with Sirius troubleshooting it and they determined the problem wasn't on their end. Then I spent about a day on the phone with JVC and they decided I needed a new satellite tuner so I replaced that and it still didn't work. At this point JVC told me take it to a service center. I finally took my radio out last week and took it in. Then they called me back a few days ago. It turned out that when I drove through the car wash water got into the JVC interface box and ruined it. The box was in the kick panel by the passenger side door so I have no idea how water got in there but it did. So I ordered a new interface box that was here when I got home from work so I got it all put in. But now I'm thinking I may need to relocate my antenna. I installed in under the plastic piece in front of the clock and I don't think it's getting good enough signal.

That should get plenty. Another good location is the front right corner of the dash right up next to the glass.

Yeah, that's where Richard had it but I wanted it to be unseen. Sometimes when I try to change the channel it won't switch and I'm thinking it's because it's not getting enough signal but I'm going to give it a few days before I move it. If I do move it I'm just going to run it straight up from where it is and mount it on top of the visor for the clock.

where was the box located? passenger side kick panel or drivers kick panel?? one thing to remember is that on the passenger side is where the main wiring harness goes into the interior of the car. Alot of times with the G's that grommet that the wiring harness fits into will leak water since alot of people will poke a hole into that grommet to run power wire and ground wires being that the battery is right there. That ultimately is the location for the window cowl and water drain off.....you may want to toss in some sealent as I recall NICK had a system in there I thought.

Yeah, I bet that's where the power is running. I'll have to check that out, thanks! I relocated everything though so it shouldn't be a problem anymore. I tucked it up above the wiring harness by the glovebox and and cabin filter (at least that's what I think it is).

If you dont seal the hole....when it rains or any car wash water will drain into your inside and you will have wet floor boards

Well that's why I didn't think the car wash effected it, because I go to the touch free drive through car wash at least once a week and I've never noticed wet floors after. I'll get in there again today and see what I can seal up.

Ok, I just replaced my rear brake pads because for the past two weeks my right rear brake has been squeaking. Well, when I got the brake pads off they were practically brand new! Since I had it open and new pads I went ahead and swapped them out and took it for a lap around the block with a few hard stops thrown in the mix. The squeaking is gone but I don't understand why they were squeaking in the first place... Any thoughts???

These are the "old" pads.

Pads can squeak for many reasons. They might have just needed some brake lube

I was having issues with good year gatorback belt and even after adding tension it would squeal. I ordered OEM belts for $37 shipped and found out that oem belts use FELT on the ribs to help keep it quiet compared to other belts available after market. I also picked up a BT3373 belt tension gauge.

I installed the OEM belts and did not have the gauge and chose what I thought was tight and to the point where no squealing occurred. I just got the tension gauge and checked my tension and I was off. The actual tension that is needed is really high compared to what I thought was around 20lbs and measuring deflection using a ruler and a hammer.

I would recommend investing in a belt gauge of some sort to check your tension for sure and not just add tension till there is no squealing. I have both tension and deflection in spec now. I am trying to figure out a way to rent my gauge out for the community.

OEM BELT SET WEST COVINA NISSAN

BEFORE ADJUSTMENT

AC Belt: 65lbs
PS / ALT Belt: 85 lbs

After Adjustment

AC Belt: 105-110 lbs
PS / ALT Belt: 180 lbs

Well just had a new radiator installed and my tranny fixed up a bit at my shop. My car had some major overheating problems lately.
