06 projectors or save up for wheels and tires?

So I am going to eventually get both of these but I am not sure what to get first.. If I do the wheels and tires I have to save for about 2 months to get the cash to get something decent. Or... I can go ahead and get the 06 projectors.. I am driving an 04 OB coupe..

Don't know what to get first.. instant gratification or save up??

I waited for the projectors until I had done most of the mods I intended to do, but they do make a BIG difference....Love Em!

Depends , what kind if wheels you thinking of buying? 06 projectors are $5xx I believe and a descent set of wheels will run u $1/3,xxx

If I were u I'd get 06 projects and save up for the wheels u really want

Well the whole wheel size thing confuses the hell out of me. Done some research and I know I wanna go with 275s in the back and want to go up to 19s. Raderwerks has some really nice looking wheels and thy are very afordable. I would like a decent size lip in the back and I believe that is called the offset? On their site I'm not sure which number is the offset and what number I should aim for.

I do plan on dropping the car but not anytime soon. Gonna stay at stock ride height with my new wheels for awhile so I'm sure I will need spacers. Didn't wanna make a thread on a bunch of noob wheel questions but yea... Lol

my vote goes to what Beer and e-Ban said...come out to some meets and see what you like/dislike. it's easy to look at pictures, but nothing comes close to seeing the real thing in person if you ask me.

come out to the meet on monday and you should be able to see a good variety.

Honestly, I'd say go for the lights.. (agreeing w/ O Hella).. This will give you the upgraded lights that won't crack on you (the 04 lights eventually will). Also it will give you time to learn what you need to learn about wheel/tire sizes and offsets properly, so you can make your choice then..

You don't want to buy wheels, then have to buy spacers, then have to buy the proper size tires because you're rubbing your fenders as you learn.. Why not learn as much as you can first, then make the correct purchase the first time? Wish I'd have done it that way.. It's a learning process I know, but it's no fun shelling out cash that you could use on other mods to correct things you didn't know about..

If you have the opportunity to save enough money to get better than decent wheels the first time around, that will save you time (from having to offload wheels that might never sell), and money (from buying spacers to correct improper offsets or tires that you've run through because you didn't buy wheels that were optimum for your set up).. I'd definitely go lights first..

You also can personalize your lights by doing a custom paint job on the housing.. There's other threads about light mods, and paint mods that you can do..

I know R1 does a great job of doing retro projectors, and dual projectors if you wanna go that route, and he and Drone also paint headlights too..

Really the quality between the HID Reflectors and HID Projectors is "night and day" (no pun intended).. It REALLY makes a huge difference in aesthetics of your car, as well as functionality. I would also recommend some 6000k bulbs as well.. The stock ones are 4300k and they're yellowish.. The 6000k are true white (maybe a small blue tint, but MUCH better as far as clarity at night).. There's a vendor on here (M-Motorsports) that I get all my bulbs from.. Great prices.

^ I would also recommend MMotorsports if you decide to upgrade the bulbs. You will not find better prices anywhere.

Twalls makes some very good points. You don't want to settle for some sub-par wheels just to have wheels. If you are serious about both mods, I would probably go with Twalls on this now that I have given it more thought. Personally, I have stuck with the OEM 19's up until now and I'm glad I did because there are so many different setups and variations out there that it can be quite overwhelming. Plus, it's hard to know what you will personally like from a style perspective unless you have looked around for a while.

If you are fairly patient, I know you can find some projectors for under $500.

Excellent idea Twalls and Brit. I will be going with the headlights in about two weeks. Gonna have to hit up R1 for the paint on the housing and my grill that I neve got a chance to get out to him.. Will def be doing more research on wheels and tires and give myself some more time to save up.

You guys are awesome as always

Thanks
