03' track... Soon to be race car.
my custom plenum

Ok guys, some of you know i was working on thins for quite a long time, about 2 1/2 months to be exact. But i figured it would be worth it. After finding that Rob's plenum out performed the mrev2 im pretty glad i tried. So i started with a non-revup lower plenum. After a lot of research i decided i was more or less going to try to copy the stepdown style of the revup plenum. seeing as how i have a revup motor i was expecting pretty decent gains just due to the longer runners, and the M/D 5/16" spacer. I ported and polished all the runners, the upper and lower plenum, and gasket matched the lower runners to the lower plenum. I actually finished this up about a month ago and was going to wait for the ceramic coating of my headers and test pipes to put them on at the same time, however im kinda glad i didnt Obviously i havent dynoed the car yet, but my seat of the pants dyno feels quite an improvement....and it sounds wayy nastier! big fan!!! check it out. comments, questions, and constructive criticism are all welcome.

Good work, but technically you didnt port anything. All you did was polish and paint.

No...i actually removed material at the mating point of the lower runners and the lower plenum when I gasket matched the two pieces. Thats porting....as is the widening of the runners, wich I also did. Ask a machinist...i did. He was impressed, for this being my first attempt.

How much did you cut out of the mating surface between the upper and lower? Cause it looks like you didnt touch the upper. Between the 2 you can easily remove 1/2 inch. Not bashing your work here bud and the fact that you have tried this is way cool. Talk soon mike

Checked your plenum out...impressive. I didn't remove any material from the upper plenum, just polished it. The lower plenum I took 5mm off the front runers, and 3mm off the middle runers, left the rears alone (those numbers are before blending and polishing. From the lower plenum to the lower runers I only gasket matched...i had no desire to make or modify m/d's $35 gasket. I just used their gasket as my template. Left the mating surface between the lower runers and heads alone for now, I will port match them to my heads when I build my stroker motor later. I dont have any super fancy tools, did all this work with a die grinder, dremel, emery cloth, a micrometer, calipers, and a lot of effing patience.
