HELP with buying a car!!!!

Hell fella's it's been awhile since I posted here, but our boy JD, suggested I do so... My wife was in an accident a couple weeks ago, thank god she wasn't hurt but my G is no more.... so obviously I want another G... but this time around I think I am going to stick with a sedan... I KNOW... BOOO! But we've been talking about a family and stuff, and this just seems like the best idea for us right now, besides it'll be good for work, because fitting 2-3 clients from work in my car was getting harder and harder. So I found the perfect g37 sedan @ Sewell Cadillac, it's an 2008. It's the color I wanted, and rims I wanted just all around what I wanted.. the problem.... I think the deal is too good to be true... is there a catch? Do you think the car has perhaps been wrecked?.... It's 3k less than the other cars on the lot of the same year, and those have at least 10-15k more miles than this one.. what do you guys think? I was going to buy on the spot Saturday morning, but thank goodness I didn't once I got home and started thinking about it, i realized something had to be up... I NEVER trust a carfax.... should I call these guys out and find out why it seems to good to be true?.....

We all know that the CARFAX isn't 100% but it's better than some salesman's word....right? Also ask to see the sedans service records, it's possible they got it back as a LEMON.

Yeah... but you can see why I'm hesitant right?.... I mean Sewell is great dealership, I bought my wife's Lexus there 1 yr ago, and they are all about great service... and they have always been good to us, I sure would hate for that to be tainted with something like this... I'm hoping it's just a stupid feeling I have... but better safe than sorry right?... but what do you think happens if I purchase it, and pay the extra $1,295 to get the car certified... do you think that will cover my ***?..

They did not make an 08 G37 sedan. If it is an 08 sedan, it has to be a G35. They only made the G37 coupe in 08, and the sedan in 09. The 08 sedan is still a good car, but it may explain the price difference.

Do you have a link to the car? I will be happy to take a look at it for additional feedback.

No you're right, it's a type-o, sorry... but they had several same models with higher mileage and and higher price tag.... I mean maybe I'm over analyzing this but just want o be sure... the salesman told me the car was way under priced and that it should be higher, but had to honor the price on the car...

For some strange reason the link is not up... maybe they are updating it, but the car was on the site on Friday night when I was researching cars, but it didn't have a picture of the actual car, so I went to the dealership first thing Saturday morning, the salesman didn't have it on his inventory list, it wasn't even on the lot, so he made a couple calls, and he told me it was in the back getting cleaned and stuff and checked out before it was placed on the lot....

Got it, and responded.... As I stated in the PM, that is pretty much the going rate for an 08. That one is priced slightly below dealer blue book, but I think that is pretty normal for a 08 non-sport at this point. I think the engine change in 09 drives the price down, and the non-sport is maybe slightly less desirable.

Looking at autotrader, there are some that are slightly more and some that are slightly less, but most seem to be in the $24k-27k range. If you can get that car for close to $26k, I think it is a OK deal if the car is in good shape. The miles are pretty low at 17k, and that is a good color combo IMO. I would not pay over $27k for that car (probably not over $26). Hell, I would sell my car for around $30k with my mods, and my car is an 09 with less miles and a sport package....

One company I always recommend when buying used cars is AutoCritic

They will go out to where ever the car is and inspect the hell out of it. Everything electrical is tested, they put the car up and check the frame visually, they check for any body damage repair, repainting, etc. they even measure the temperature of the air coming out of the vents with he A/C on. They will take the wheels off and check the rotors/calipers and the suspension parts. They finish up with a test drive of the car and give you a detailed report.
