Thanks. It's going out on my Explorer (guess what I'm doing this weekend?), so it just got me thinking about it since the miles on the G are racking up.

yeah they usually last as long as the engine from what I've seen. its not like in american cars where you want to replace them any time you are in there.

Heh, good to know. actually I've been impressed that it's taken 180k miles for the wp to go out on the Explorer. The ac compressor, on the other hand, dies with oil changes. 4th one so far.

I've found 190 to be pretty cop-free and smooth
Kind of expensive with all the tolls and no twisties though.

trentor... I just ordered the mrev2, no spacer for now... maybe later. I don't see over 5500RMPs that often to make it worth the spacer. Do you?
+1 for changing all the fluids... always good. Maybe a timing belt if that hasn't been done.

steven... get it and I'll help with the install (I know nothing about it but want to learn!)

So anybody pay their tickets yet? Anybody eligible for defensive driving or deferred disposition?

I'm prob gonna go tomorrow to pay it off and see what I could do to keep the points off my record.

He speaks the truth.

I got a ticket last summer and when I went to court, I opted to pay the fine in full and take a 30 day deferment. Basically, if I didn't get a ticket within those 30 days, the ticket would be dismissed and it wouldn't go on my record.

And I got pulled over for doing 79 in a 50.

if the whole group doesn't talk to a lawyer, still worth it on an individual basis

okay so here's the deal:

290$ for me, (93 in 55)

To do defensive driving, you have to be under +24mph of the speed limit. to do deferred judification you have to be under +30mph... so basically, at this point, I would pay $290, admit guilt and get it on my record since I dont have a choice. I was going 38 over, so she said although the judge usually doesnt waive it off your record and let you do probation, it's worth a shot.

It is def worth a shot since i dont want **** on my record. The judge is open from mon-thu 8am-4pm, recommended to get there at 730am.

they wont have our citations in the office for prob a week or so, so we cant go see judge until then. we have 30 days to take care of, contrary to the ten days written on the ticket.

So my next step is to either research some lawyers, and wait till they get the tickets in the office, and go see the judge.

Do NOT talk to the judge without a lawyer. I've tried to discuss with them and they could care less. Plus, what are you gonna tell him? "We were speeding around and I don't a mark on my record." Not to hate, but if you aren't going to lawyer up, just pay it and save yourself the trouble. You are revenue baby!
