Hey Sprint Evo guys
I don't understand the hate for Sprint....I have had nothing but great experiences with it. It helps that I am on a heavily discounted plan, but still......I never suffered from all of the dropped calls/poor data speeds/spotty service that all the iPhone users had.
^ Nina, have you been with Sprint recently (as in, within the last few years)? I kinda doubt it.
Data with Sprint is a TRUE "unlimited", not the bullshiet that you get with ATT or Verizon. Again, I am biased....but ATT seriously cracks me up when it comes to caps and what constitutes "normal" data usage. I personally blow through several Gb of data every month, and I don't use my phone as heavily as I could since I usually can't plug it in during the day. That would cost me a fortune on ATT (and the speeds would blow on top of that).

Glad Sprint is working out for you guys tho
Harsh? I was just asking a question
The current Sprint is completely and totally different from the Sprint of 3-5+ years ago.
I simply take issue with people spreading misinformation or dated information about companies. A ton of credibility is placed in the "word of mouth" advertising between customers and it's a shame to see a company do poorly simply because people base their opinions of said company on what they heard from someone else (who was misinformed or wrong).

Well you kinda asked the question and answered it too LOL btw, I do have unlimited data
I'll give you the whole "sprint is different now" but my aunt had Sprint up to a year ago and her experience was also terrible... quick question, do you work for Sprint by any chance? oh wait, I remember now, you're biased cuz your service is discounted so does your one-sided opinion really count? just saying... lol
About the whole word of mouth thing... you're just assuming the "someone else" is misinformed or wrong. Word of mouth is exactly that, advertising (whether it be good or bad) based on personal experience.
To be honest with you, it's all about the network and customer service. If you live/frequent an area that has great reception with said company, then you're experience will be great but if you don't, then it will more than likely suck.

I do not work for Sprint. Yes, I do have a heavily discounted plan. However, I was with ATT before this (and work with countless people who are with ATT).
I don't have to "assume" that someone else is wrong when I hear what they say and KNOW that it is factually incorrect. Example - someone saying that Sprint has a crappy old data network. False. Their data network rapes ATT's data network. Another example would be an ATT customer claiming that they have an unlimited plan. Really? You do realize that it's capped, right? That's not unlimited by definition.
I would also argue that Sprint rivals ATT in customer service as well, but that is a whole other story.

Hey, if that's what YOU have to say about those companies, then go ahead but don't be a douche trying to call people out cuz they got an opinion that is different from yours. We're not in China, foo...
And I seriously gotta find my AT&T bill... it says unlimited, do I know whether it's capped? hell no, I don't but so far, I haven't had to pay for additional data usage since I apparently have never gone over the unlimited data cap

I had sprint many moons ago and hated every second. As with any company I'm sure they evolved and got better. I left them for T-Mobile because of a phone deal and I wanted away from Sprint. Finally, I left T-Mobile cause I wanted to go BlackBerry AND AT&T was the only carrier worth a poop in my building. I say that because of all the carriers, AT&T was the only service provider that somehow got access all the way down in the 3rd floor of the underground parking lot, in all the elevators and pretty much the entire building. No other service came anywhere close. Verizon actually sent techs out to try to figure it out (funny story actually). And it is still true to this day even though I don't work in that building anymore.
So, honestly, the best choice is which supports your daily life. AT&T service works great for me. Unlimited data and no issues with dropped calls. Their customer service I know is shiat, but I rarely have to deal with them and when I do, it's simple stuff. So, no complaints so far.

Ok... I really tried to resist posting in this thread too much but since I directly work in this field in a customer facing environment at an AT&T corporate store I now have to give my input..
Brit, our customers that had unlimited data before we made the cap are grandfathered in to the unl plan.. Meaning there is no cap for them. Since I pull bills on a daily basis I can promise you that the majority of the people that use data devices do not exceed 2gb of data a month (which is our cap). Customers come out saving 5 bucks a month by being on said 2gb data plan. What most people don't realize is that the iPhone wrecked our network. The iPhone started the data surge. As much as I don't like apple they really changed the mobile game with their phone. Everyone is searching the web, streaming YouTube checking facebook every two seconds, playing words with friends..
That is a ton of stress on our network and when the towers get over loaded they shut off causing a dropped call (we talked about this tonight). Now while sprints 4G is fast as you saw tonight it is still not "true" 4G. Once ours is deployed it is going to rape. All of our 3G towers right now are in the process of being upgraded by Ericsson to handle the exponential growth of data using customers. We capped the plans to make a better experience for the normal user and it has worked well. I get far less complaints on dropped calls then I did two years ago. I have worked for AT&T for five years (was hired as Cingular) and it is crazy to see how much the mobile industry has evolved.

BUT my biggest gripe with AT&T is their rates going up ever since the iPhone was introduced, also the drop in service quality since that happened. And with the company making so much money, why is it taking them so long to upgrade to 4G??? Sprint's 4G might not be "real" 4G, but at least it is 4G...
And the fact that the unlimited plans are grandfathered means nothing to other customers. Their plans rape wallets with just a regular data package, imagine how much it would cost if they offered an unlimited package now! So for everyone without an unlimited data package grandfathered for the next few years or so, with the cheapest phone plan, we're still paying about $100 per month for sh*tty, outdated service while being on a network that's really only good for checking emails every now and then.
I don't mind taking my chances with Sprint or moving back to Verizon again now that my contract with AT&T is about done... at least I'm getting what I'm paying for.

Yea, Verizon treated their employees like sh*t as where AT&T really looks out for theirs. But working for a company and having service with them are two different cases.
