Exactly. I just think that consumers take for granted the technology that goes into making this stuff work.. I mean really think about it.. Your out and about and you can pull a device out of your pocket and surf the internet or watch a youtube video or take a picture of something and directly upload it to facebook or whatever it is that you use..

Granted, AT&T's main headquarters is in Texas, so the internet and cell phone service out there is much better than anywhere else in the US, with service in Northern California being next on the list. Specific areas in Texas and Northern California are also used to test new products, and these are usually the first neighborhoods to receive new technologies.

consumers are effin spoiled. they think that the company's are out there to do nothing but SERVICE THEM.
We live in a capitalist society, where company's exist based on profit. it's not a social requirement, it's a privilege to have a phone.
And NO MATTER what is offered out there, for anything, it's never gonna make consumers 100% happy, cause everyone has different needs.
but this is a completely different argument.

You also have to put things into perspective related to the history of this technology... most of us are old enough to know that cell phones were a privilege, not a commodity. Same for the internet! I still remember hacking my NetZero dial up account so that the damn banner wouldn't show up while I was logged into the internet. And when Napster was a cool thing. Now days, these brats expect the internet and think cell phones are a must. I just hate this generation personally... hahahaha
Ha, you used to pay by the minute PERIOD... I remember talking as fast as possible so to not go over a single minute on the brick phone! Still the strongest phones ever made btw
I feel you guys have it mixed up... a driver's license is a privilege as it isn't paid for and can be taken away by law enforcement due to misconduct. It's allowed to you by the law. But cell phone and internet are now services. Nobody can take that away from you as long as you pay for the service.
While there was a time when it was only the privileged that could afford cell phones and high speed internet, it's a technology that is now inexpensive enough that anyone who has a hundred dollars to spend can have it. And our society has evolved with these technologies so much that it has become almost a necessity for most.
And if you feel people need to be privileged to be able to afford cell phone service and are getting that mixed up with cell phones being a privilege, you are getting your grammar mixed up. While you are using the same word, the two different uses have different meanings.
But I still remember when cell phone service was some ridiculous price, and pager service was around $25 a month.

I apologize, but yes, you did misinterpret the use of privilege. What I was referring to was my owning of a cell phone was a privilege I had from my parents. Most kids have them these days and it's just sad. Hell, I remember having my own hard phone line in my room was a privilege. That was a bad move on my parents' part hehe.
You will find no other human on this planet that thinks, you pay for a service, you better damn well get it. Now we as a society have just come to the expectation that all cell phone service sucks in some form or fashion as service goes in and out, calls drop, and we just b*tch for a second (some longer than others obviously) and go on.
Of course, all said and done, life's to damn short, so I don't really care if a call drops cause I know I can make another call. It's annoying, but if that's the worst thing that happens to me in a day, that's a damn good day

What are you, still in high school???
I don't think it's ridiculous to expect a quality service you paid for... you spent your hard earned money for it. If anything I'd say it's ridiculous to pay for a service and not care that you don't get it. How would you feel I took your money, promising you to wash your car, only to have me hose it down and cut?
Now, if the service was cheap like Sprint ($65), I'd expect a dropped call here and there and be perfectly fine when it happens. But for $100 a month, it needs to live up to the cost. The problem with dropped calls now is that I'm paying a lot more for minutes that have been cut down. A one second call counts for a full minute. Now while it's not expensive for me to lose that minute, it comes down to the principle of it. For the price, I should not have to deal with this many dropped calls as constantly as it happens, especially when there are cell phone towers everywhere.

lol... you crack me up
I am well out of high school. I'm not that old, but well beyond high school. Guess you don't understand past tense. And you should understand, people value things differently. Yes, I very much believe in getting what I pay for (I guess that paragraph wasn't clear somehow), but somethings in life are just more important to me than my cell phone service

Dofu.. Go take a walk outside or somethin man.. Better yet go scream in your pillow and then come back with a better attitude. Also I have a sprint account as my personal line that I set up not too long ago and I pay 100 bucks a month just like you do.
We can tell you have no clue how cell phone technology works.
