New Owner-Clear Bra Q?

Greetings, want to introduce myself. Picked up a G35 Coupe at Grubbs 2 weeks ago and love it. Registered to join this club. I keep reading about the Clear Bra and was wondering if anyone can recommed a reliable installer in the Dallas/Plano/Rockwall area. Want to get it, before it's to late. Thanks.

Hey jcatx, congrats on the G purchase and welcome to the club!

Unfortunately since I am new to Texas the only place I know of would be Grubbs themselves. I would try calling them just to get an idea of what it would cost. You may even be able to get a 10% discount as a DFW G35 club member!

My first G was Laser Red in color and the paint chips on the entire front end of the car were pretty bad. I wished so badly that I had the clear bra installed when I bought the car but the dealer tacked on a couple hundred bucks. I got in contact with the actual installer the worked for the dealer to find out how much they tacked on. By that time it was too late for me and I figured I would just end up getting the front end repainted ... then I sold the car

Now I'm driving a DG coupe like yours and the few chips that are there are hardly noticeable due to the color of the paint to the bare metal. Also it seems that the paint on my new DG coupe is much more resiliant than the Laser Red paint was... It's still probably worth it just to protect the finish of the front bumper and front of the hood. You're probably looking at anywhere between $400 - $800 to do the work.

Thanks for joining our club. We have several members who have a clear bra on their cars. Some have been happy and others, not so much. I can't tell you with any certainty which have been happy but I hope you can find your answer here.
If not I would wait until our next big event and check out some of the cars for yourself to see how the bras have held up.

I had a clear bra done at Sewell for ~$500 (I'm sure they out source it though). I was somewhat paranoid about driving off the lot unprotected.

It's held up okay. I guess there are different types of film that are used. The film that is currently on my car is fairly thick. Over the last year it has developed what seems to be orange peel so it isn't as shiny anymore. I will probably get the hood bra replaced.

3M sounds good to me. I've had mine on for 5-6 months and its held up nicely.
