Whats wrong with my Launch?

Well ive been practicing on my launches since I am planning on taking a trip to LACR.

One thing I noticed is that, when I launch, I let the RPM's fall noticeably. Not sure if this is normal or bad.

Heres my technique:

1)Rev to 3000 RMP's
2)Feather the clutch until I feel it hook... then floor it.

During the process of feathering the clutch, I notice the RPM's fall enough. I really wasnt paying that much attention to how much it fell, but it was REALLY obvious from the exhaust tone.

I guess I'm just afraid of burning the clutch; I have heard not to give additional throttle while the clutch is slipping.

So, for you experienced and knowledgeable drivers... Am I doing this wrong?

Thanks.

.

I've been driving stick for almost 13 years now!!! (AUTO CARS in south america are EXTREMELY expensive!). I moved to the US and continued to drive stick....
But anyway, the g35 has been the first car that I find hard sometimes to shift from 1st to 2nd gear at a high RPM! Low RPM is fine... but at a high RPM, it can be tricky to shift 1 - 2 !!

yes, there is a perfect balance that you can hold the revs at close to the same and keep the car from spinning OR bogging.

it simply takes practice. also it sucks cause the track wont be the same style of launching as the street will.

good luck though for sure!!
