It still has no bearing on your E.T. Will it decide a race.....yes. I have seen plenty of cars in testing sit for 8-9 seconds only to run a low 7. So, sorry, but you are still wrong.......

R/T (reaction time) has no bearing on E/T (elapsed time).

Reaction time will get you to the finish line faster - but it doesn't affect how fast you go to get there.

Most of us only care how fast we get there - that's the method of determining the cars ability...

If you are racing someone to see who gets to the finish line first, RT AND ET are important.

True. I can beat somebody off the line and win, but they can have a faster ET because they slept at the line. I've beat many domestics that way.

Mike you need to get to bakersfield at least once to break 13's. I know out here your car is low 13 because it is definately faster than mine. (I drove it before)

DA plays a big part, track prep plays a big part, but driver skill plays even bigger.

I remember my first time at the track back in 03 I ran 14.3 knowing nothing I floored it when I saw green not on the 3rd yellow like I do now. That track was at sea level in MS.

I move to socal 6 yrs ago I'm more experienced with more mods I can't even break 15's (LACR) over 3k DA.

Week later I go to california speedway same mods and run 14.3 1200-2000 DA.

I move back to the east coast last yr and run 13.2 on street tires at cecil with the same car which honestly, I doubt I would of done with no experience along with the good DA and track prep that day . 03threefifty was there to witness that.

If I was to take my car back to socal I know it will be a low 14 maybe high 13 sec car unless I go where Jairen goes.

Socal does not give you enough seat time 3-4 street legals a yr do not cut it while out here they run every week non-stop.

Last year at Mason with 2750' DA I was still running 13.38-13.41. I agree it makes a difference, but not a whole second. Also, yeah the results coming out of Sac speedway are making cecil look slow lol.

remember that day at 1st I was running 14's and wanted to quit due to not having DRs. I was getting faster and faster with every run. I went from 14.6 to 13.2 the same day.

I started playing with the tire pressure.

Well Sac is cali's cecil.

Don't you remember you was there in March opening day. I was running 13.8 on street tires 2.04 60ft.

I think AJ did a 13.3 that day. I might go this friday and bring out the ET streets.

Ran my 03 G35 6MT coupe last night at Sacramento Raceway for my first time ever. I was shootin for 13.9, but couldn't hit it cuz my 60ft. Definetly wasnt used to launching on the track compared to street lol. MODS i have done are: Z-tube+JWT popcharger, Motordyne 5/16 spacer, and Borla Cat-back. Ran 3 times and hit 14.3 twice and 14.1 the last one. I already know my 60 FT was horrible. It was between 2.35 to 2.4 on all three. Wierd thing is, I clocked in at about 102.5 which is pretty high compared to other Gs with similar mods. I will post up my timeslips when im home, currently at work. What do you think I should be getting on 1/4 with a good launch? Is it normal to have such a high trap speed and hittin 14.1-14.3? I was also on the OEM 19s with street tires. Any feedback would be appreciated, like I said, I'm new to the track scene and can't wait to go back already lol.

The general rule of thumb is every .1 you take off your 60' is .2 of your ET. I have run as low as 13.30 while trapping in the high 102's.
