No offense, but I think that's just insane. I went about 200 passes on street tires, all NA, trapping maybe 100mph. When I finally pulled the trigger on DR's, I noticed an immediate difference, even without doing a burnout.

There's no question that the DR's have cut a good half-second off my ET's.

Why would you want to be battling with the tires, traction, pedaling the throttle, and feathering the clutch with that kind of power? It's going to be a losing battle. Mount some good rubber on that ****er and concentrate on *driving* the car.

I understand your point of mounting DR's on but I'm not worried about what time I run or if I do ever trap 120 with street tires. I race against myself...and thats why I won't throw on DR until I feel that i've got the full potential out of my car on street tires and I know it will be a crappy et. Thats why I didn't start modding until i beat the infiniti factory time with a bone stock g35. But after you've learned to fight with the tires and master the throttle I think drag radials will be a piece of cake. I think it's not the car's time I try to beat its me. And I won't go built motor until I run mid 11s..with slicks.

I agree with Trey, why even waste your time with street tires? There's absolutely no glory in running a 13.5@118mph. Fighting traction problems at WOT in the lower gears and even on granny shifts sounds like a major headache. Sticky tires not only improve traction, they improve consistency.

Like I've been saying for years now, drag tires are the single best mod you can do for a 6MT or high power 5AT. NO SINGLE MOD short of forced induction will drop ET like sticky tires will. NONE. Mount 26" slicks on a bonestock 03-06 6MT sedan and you've got an easy 13.6 second ride STOCK.

Okay you guys convinced me......on Feb 9th hoping for 11s but it will be my first time on drag radials and it will be my first time testing out my new twins...........I've only run my car when it was bone stock. 14.1@100mph and thats with a crappy 2.2 60'. I went straight from bone stock to twin turbo.
