2005 G35c 6MT - new stock times tonight

Got 5 runs in tonight down at Cecil County, MD. I am a little disappointed I went home without a 13 second time slip, but the mph definitely shows its there. The car actually hooked up REALLY well. I kept raising my launch rpms a little at a time, and it still had room for more - I just didn't want to launch it too hard and smoke the tires off the line. One or two more passes and I think I could have left with a 13.9X. My best time was 14.05 @ 102.3mph on a 2.17 60ft. Here are all my runs. I picked up the car exactly 2 weeks ago tonight, and figured I'd get some stock baseline runs in - the car was incredibly consistent for being its inaugural run.

Thanks. He ran 13.79 @ 102.7mph on a 2.08 60ft in the Z (2004 touring 6-spd all stock).

Thank you. Yes the weather was perfect. The track was pretty nice early on, but starting getting cold for some of the later runs.

102.3 MPH trap speed is very good for the VQ35DE (rev-up). Can you tell me where you were shifting at in the 1-2, 2-3, & 3-4 shift?

Here's the link to the list by the way. I'll put you up if you post it in there. Please help us out by contributing https://g35driver.com/forums/drag/161248-top-25-1-4-mile-times-tt-st-supercharger-nitrous-bolt-ons-stock.html

I posted my entry in there, thanks. I think I have all the required info. Didn't have a scan of the timeslip, but I posted the video.

Launch:
The clutch engages pretty far out, so when I staged I let off the clutch to the point right where it starts to grab, then backed off just a tad. I took the rpms up to between 2500-2800 and then slipped the clutch a little bit pretty quickly, and as soon as I start rolling I drop the clutch all the way and then floor the gas.

Shifting:
I have the factory shift light set at 7000rpm. On the 1-2 shift I was shifting a tick before it went solid red. The 2-3 shift I let it just hit solid red for a brief second then shifted. 3rd gear I played with a little bit. On the 4th pass I let the rpms wind out a little more, netting me the much higher trap speed than the previous runs. On the 3-4 shift I wasn't even really paying attention to the shift light, and instead went off the tach (since it moves slower in the higher gears and I have more time to watch it than the lower gears). I have heard people say that when the tach shows 7300, its actually at 7000. So I let the needle hit between 7200-7300 then shifted into 4th, which was literally right before I crossed the traps. I could probably almost make it through the lights in 3rd gear on the rev limiter lol.

Hopefully that was detailed enough haha.

You don't know how jealous this makes me.. Here I am killing myself trying to break 14's while being stuck on 15.1. Then this guy shows up in his stock G running 14's flat... Altitude is a biotch

Awesome times man, keep that up!!

Nice times. Cecil is always a fast track from what I can see.

Remove the side moldings and you'll hit 13's for sure!

In all seriousness, great times!

Haha thanks for all the great responses everyone. I'd like to at least get a 13.9X and then do a few bolt ons. I have an intake on its way soon, but I'd like to go run again before I install it.

Depending upon the intake you might actually see your times get worse... I'd say go with a plenum spacer first.
