Thinking of taking the G Coupe to the track

For the first time ever, i'm thinking about going down to the track and see what time she gets. I have a 2003 Coupe 5AT that is 100% stock. My friend will be driving the a 1995 Z28 M6 with longtube headers, cam, CAI and a computer tune. I know he's gonna chew me, but it's just for fun.
How fast are stock G Coupe in 1/4 and what to expect? (Idea's)

every track is different... prep, temps and altitude make a huge difference... that’s why you see some cars getting in the high 13s and others getting low 14s - put them on the same track and the low 14 car could beat the high 13 car (in many cases)

On the track we run in LA/OC (Fontana) you probably be somewhere mid 14s (14.3-14.5) this time of year.

Mid 14's @ 95-97 mph would be my guess.

mid 14s

i had a 1997 z28 before this car and stock for stock the camaro would beat my 06 coupe no problem

the camaro with those mods will probably run a low 13 depending on the driver

even high 12s if it's a mild cam with sticky tires

Anywhere from low 14's to high 14's, depending on how good of a driver you are and what the DA's are & track preperation.

I forget if he's an LT1 or LS1, I think LT1.

He's should be mid 12's or so, you'll be mid 14's. Depends on his cam. It could be much faster.

Track conditions could swing you guys a good 1/5 second either way, though.

mid 12's? lol you're smoking crack

maybe if he had slicks or at least drag radials and had a VERY aggressive cam

it's an LT1...he said 1995. camaros/firebirds from 1993-1997 were LT1...1998+ are LS1

LT1's are weaker than LS1's, but not by much. Maybe 0.3s in the quarter.

LS1's are low 13's, LT1's can sometimes do the same, but are usually mid 13's. However, we're talking massive engines. Things like exhaust and a tune do a lot more on them than they do for our engines. That LT1 should be breaking into the 12's. I'd think traction would determine how far in.

Of course, conditions permitting. The engine is 13 years old now, and the track prep and elevation vary.

Wait a minute, why are we arguing? We both think the same thing. lol. Low 13, maybe breaking 12's.

After reading my post, you're right. I said mid to low 12's. I exaggerated a bit, lol. I was assuming a fairly aggressive cam, which is unlikely without headwork being mentioned. What you said is more accurate.
