the ford mustang will take u so hard maybe by 2-3 cars maybe more on the 1/4 mile..
if any1 says otherwise there just full of it and are up there buts with the g35..
g35 will take mustang in a drifitng comp and like turnin all that crud but the mustang will even take the g37 in a drag

gdup i beat so many of you little sedans and coupes its jsut ridic..
05+ mustang gts can take g35s maybe even g37s all day any day.. ur sedan is like a hi 14 1/4 saying ur a good driver.. i can mess up on my launch and still take ur slow family sedan

First, WGAF. Just go to the drag strip and race 
Second, I can actually speak with experience. My brother owns a 2008 Mustang GT 5MT (S197's) and I own a 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT (revup). The Mustang will easily out launch a G35 6MT. It's suspension is ideal for this. The Mustang GT will pull on a G35 6MT for the first few seconds. But the G35 should have no problem keeping up at higher speeds. A G35 6MT should have no problem inching away from a 05-09 Mustang GT at higher speeds. But those speeds wouldn't be possible for stock GT's & G35's at the 1/4 mile.
This is all assuming stock cars and proper drivers.
With modified cars, there are so many different variables and configurations to take in to account. Generally speaking, a full bolt on & tuned G35 Coupe with an FD swap (3.7/3.9/4.0) should easily out accelerate a stock S197 Mustang GT. A full bolt on & tuned S197 with gears will flat out trash a stock G35 Coupe 6MT. And a full bolt on tuned S197 should have no problem walking away from a full bolt on & tuned G35 Coupe 6MT.

Over the weekend i had a run-in with an '05+ mustang and it pulled on me a little. I have an 04 Coupe thats completely stock. These were only third and fourth gear pulls so like some others said, you might have a better chance at higher speeds.

I had spacer, pop charger/ztube, test pipes and 1/4 tank of gas.
Not to mention my car weighs less than a 350z(by alot).
I pulled on a GT pretty hard from top of 3rd through 4th into 5th and let off.
He was acting like a dick cutting me off so i learned him a lessson.
