i read you post and its pretty much easy, with your sub and spare, your car is a bigger pig then me. I have AWD traction on my side and thats why i pulled a .10 faster and well honestly your " modded " is more show then go. going off what you put in your sig, you have no performance mods, coupe 19's are almost equal to the weight of stock 17's, your lip, radio, stereo and radar are add-ons. i think i recall you having a HKS which is only a noise maker, no one has proven the HY pipe to give actual gains, just smoother. smoother doesn't mean faster. The only real mod you have is a spacer but everything else balanced out to a stock trim.

your car is nice and clean and one day i wish to be on your list in terms of visual mods.

reading your thread, you wasn't exactly prepped for the track and i was. I still had a horrible performance. Maybe your track was bad in terms of prep work. Bryon that was great because we had plenty of 8-10 second card out.

Well, the problem is the track is an hour and a half away from my house. Didnt want to ditch the spare and stuff then risk getting a flat or somthing. Sub ill try to take out next time haha Damn thing tipped over.

my track was 2 hours away... besides people at the track are very friendly and will either help watch your stuff or most people wont even bother taking it.

all I know is that when im going to track, my trunk is gettin Gutted out.

When I run the car RWD, ( pulled the fuse again for the summer, cause its more fun this way.) No matter how fast I get on the pedal from stop I won't chirp tires, It picks up like VDC was on, but its off. after 3k RPMs car opens up and Feels like pulling thru gears is a little harder then AWD.
Im at 33k 06x should i look into cleaning stuff or tune up?
Also If I do first gear pulls from 3-4k rpms, I spin tires and chirp the 2nd on mostly any pavement lol. Just tryin to figure out the buggin down from the line on RWD.

who got the fastest X? times?

Mustang guys said that? That's actually wrong.

Lowering your car hurts weight transfer. If anything you want a soft cushy suspension so when you hit it the car settles back on the rear tires and helps with grip.

But that is RWD strategy. Us X guys shouldn't have to do that.

Honestly, when i ran my car i felt my 60 footer was pretty much right at the limits. I left the line hard and did not spin and i beleive i was pulling 2.1's?

To improve that, i'd need mods for more power (esp low end torque), taller final drives for torque multiplication or a higher stall converter to get the engine into the powerband sooner.

If we had manuals we'd just slip the trans at a higher RPM but with 5AT's we don't have that luxury

My understanding is that even with the fuse pulled, at a stop or low speed the front wheels still receive some power

Well, without knows exactly what they said i can't say for sure if their reasoning is right or wrong.

All i know is when i lowered my Mustang and put stiffer springs in, it destroyed my 60-footers. I went from 2.1's to 2.3's

I'm a bit late in replying, but you may be interested in knowing that I have the same car as you. I ran a 14.3 a couple of years ago. Nearly full tank. With the spare. I know, I know, but I wanted to see what the car was capable of in everyday trim. Also, no engine mods.

according to your signature you have a 6MT which has the 298HP rev-up engine. They should do low 14s stock, while the 5AT only has 280HP which should see mid-high 14s stock. Im pretty sure Wannabee has a 5AT if im not mistaken.

It could also be the 19's.

While not heavy, they do move the most mass of the wheel (the actual rim) further away from the hub. This increases the moment of travel requiring more power to accelerate.

In otherwords, say you had a 17" rim and 19" rim. If both tires were the same overall diameter and the wheels weighed the same, the 19" wheel would still rob up more HP.

If you have your 17's still, swap them on before headling back. The larger sidewall also helps cushion the shock of the launch and resist breaking traction.
