Nissan SER vs G35?
Yeah car is a car, Im pretty sure most of us didnt buy this car because of how fast it is. Simply because its sexy and it gets us from point A to point B( a little faster than others lol). SE R and G35's are great cars!

Impressive low 13's from the new altima guy but his time is nearly an entire second off of his stock time, now let's see a g with equivalent number of mods to take a second off the stock time and then compare.
I think its safe to assume that the Altimas have less power loss at the wheels because their FWD. I had a slightly modified SER keep up with me no problem as long as the road was straight. Yes, I have an auto which didn't help me out at all. But he had 260whp compared to my 250whp. And I had more engine mods then that Altima.
Of course not - its not a common occurrence (dispit what a few out here have said - just drive both and its obviois)... for them to smack talk would be like a G forum trash talking an M3 if a G beat it...
To the Guy that thinks coupes are faster (and the other references to 260 HP), they are exaclty the same engine - not one thing different about them (other than some of us believe the tune is different)... the 260 vs 280 is just a marketing game Nissan used (its been discussed sh!tloads of times)
There are a ton of MT vs AT and coupe vs sedan threads - go to one of them if you feel the need for that debate...

these cars are neck and neck.. on dynos the altima (non se-r) 3.5 puts down the same horsepower as the g35 (non rev-up). this is because the altima loses less horsepower to drivetrain loss because its FWD. Also, its almost 300lbs lighter. Either way, I dont care.. i could have bought an altima se-r for less than my car, but i didnt, and there's a plenty of reasons why.
factory HP numbers are for marketing. same engine, same output. sedans are actually lighter, have more even weight distribution, and have a better drag coefficient than coupes. so same engine & trans in coupe vs same engine & trans in sedan, sedan has edge. a slight edge but an edge none the less.
Yeah winning is winning, doesnt matter if its an inch or a mile, but in the end who cares? If we wanted a fast car we would all have Buggati Veryons. I cant afford that **** lol. In the end there both great cars.
would an intake and y-pipe drop a second off the 1/4 mile time for the g?
serious question
That would be cool if there were more people who tracked their car on this forum.
Not to offend anybody, but I've noticed most people here are for show/parking lot meet modders and never see the track. Nothing wrong with it, that's just how it is here.
The times are good for a lightly modded Altima on drag radials.
I have alot of room to improve on with my 13.8@104-105/2.2 60ft's/street tires. My traps/60ft show a lot of improvements are needed. Waiting to see what I run now with the MREV2/Osiris/weight reduction/better tires/reduce wheel hop. As of right now, I have a serious wheel hop issue. Soon to be cured by SPL bushings.
not to turn this into a pissing contest, but his only mods were intake and a y-pipe, plus sticky tires...it's not like he was fully bolted or anything like that. the new altimas are also consistently dynoing in the 250-260hp range vs the 3rd gens(including the se-r) which only dyno in the 220-230 range stock.

that's what I figured, especially since the intake and exhaust on the g is a lot more free flowing that that of an altima
