#31
I have done this very race here ( 03 coupe 6mt , hfc , full exhaust , jwt pop charger , plenum spacer , upgraded clutch & flywheel , experienced driver & I weigh 265 ) vs 07 gt , mt exhaust & k&n .. I got him by half a car 2 of 4 races other 2 were almost dead even . If you're auto odds are against you .

HAHAHAHAHAHA 300whp on a DE? He would need built high compresison motor, cams and very generous dyno to ever hit 300whp on a DE. I think the closest was Masis on my350z. He had fully built motor with 11:1, jwt cams, full bolt ons including manifold and thottle body and headers. He had 290 whp.

Anything is possible with enough $$, but there is no way in hell OP is anywhere around 300 whp on his DE.

I forgot about adams build. I stopped following that thread awhile ago, I know his goal was 320 but I thought he maxed out at 303. That was with about 25k invested. Im sure sure though if full built and heads even counts as a DE anymore though.

Fast and the furious reference. Clearly a joke.
The Mustang should have an advantage.
However, it's definitely a driver's race. Whoever messes up the start (spins the tires) will lose.
People always like to magazine race and look at the best possible times for cars. But go to the drag strip on any given night.... most cars are running 1/2 to a full second behind the times they "should." All based on the launch. Bog or spin and you'll be way behind. Usually takes a number of runs before you get close to the magazine time.
And with a manual car, the launch is MUCH harder to be consistent with on street tires.
