raced another new mustang GT last night funny thing is he stalked me hardcore..... I was sitting behind him at a light and his plates read RLYFAST, I laughed and was like I doubt it, and knew he was going to try and race me, and what do you know....once the light turned green he took off in front of me, I was like um okay and didnt even chase... So I got into a left turn lane as we stopped at another light, but he was going straight. as my light turns green to turn...he switches 3 lanes and follows...once he could get next to me, he pulls up with his car in a low gear, holding his revs.... he honks 3 times then we go for it he gets a slight pull (about a fender) once we hit wot, but a little after I started creeping away.... ended up putting a car and a half on him... as im looking in my rear view it looks like he shuts down cuz I start pulling like crazy......I throw the hazards to be a ricer and **** him off....slow down and he wants another go....he takes off first this time without even honking, but I was ready for him with my car in 2nd and rpms right around 4500 rpm.... I get on it right after he does and I stop his pulling, pass him and only put about a car on him that time... then had to let off due to a tight corner comming up....hahaha I could tell it wasnt stock either because his mustang was alot louder than other new mustang GTs I have raced and his exhuast looked like it was aftermarket... RLYFAST for nothing!!

I used to own a 00 Mustang Saleen and I bought my G and will never by a Ford again they suckkkk.... People who buy them think they are so cool and have no idea how redneck they are... They aren't slick or smooth I don't care what body kit you put on it, it will always look like crap..

 

Funny I got into it the other night with a 06 GT as well. I was at the light he pulls up..it was wet and I had the ****y inside lane. We go for it I pull on him about a half a car and then we get to this hairy curve so I let off. Then we get to next light I hit it again and I am about a full car on him.

Mustangs are HEAVY and SLOW as hell, they are just a lot of Hype even with so much advertising of 300HP that they so much preached, plus they will break down quick if you raced it alot which makes no sense from ford...make a race car but dont race it LOL thats fords logic...

I have a hard time believing that you beat a 05 Ford Mustang GT. They are running equivalant to the 350z in the quarter, maybe a little quicker. And they are quicker than our cars 0-60. Either you were racing a convertible or you shifted perfectly and the Mustang f'd up his shifting. I would really like to see anyone's 1/4 mile time that claim that they beat an 05 or 06 Mustang GT. Unless of course you are FI or have every bolt on mod out there.

 

^ Hate to admit it but i agree. the older one's were sleds, but the newer GT's are no slouches. im not a fan personally. my Trans Am was a high 12 second machine and the new GT's that were lightly modded were quite pesky, respectively.

 

Being that the G was an 06, wouldn't the extra 18 hp have helped out vs the 280hp 2003 G35. Seems like the 05/06 G35 should be around the same as an 03/04 350z, maybe a tenth or so slower.

 

I have a hardtop coupe which is very light I have beaten about 3 350zs 2 were 6 speed and one was auto...its close with the 6speed 350s I only win by about a car 1/2 or less.

 

Maybe just a new Mustang, but the new GT's run high 13's.

 

ECU flash, intake, gears, mufflers, and DRs and you'll run low 13s/high 12s in an 05 GT. A G35 coupe has no chance of matching that performance especially for $1,500.
