S-mode in auto?

S-mode in auto?
Okay I notice this before but never thought of it till just recently when I was driving my car I notice in the auto screen where is shows what gear I am in there is an S next to the M for manual mode. Could some one explain what s mode is and how to active it? I also noticed it on a 2005 FX35. Thank you.

The 'S' mode is snow mode for the X. It equalizes traction front to rear up to about 20mph. Not on regular G's, but they do have the same display quadrant.

Oh because I have seen this on the FX35 and just today a 350Z auto also(which is kind of odd).

Yes, the FX has the same as is AWD too. and the Z will have the same display altho no AWD.
