Hmmm....The clutch in my 06 Coupe is probably the lightest feeling clutch I've had in 20 years. I actually thought my NSX had a light clutch but comparred to the G, it's heavy as heck.

Thumbs up

yeah i once thought these clutches were a bit stiff but after driving an m3 it isnt much! one PROBLEM ive been having for 6 months++ now is right when im releasing the clutch in any gear i get a loud click!! it to damNN loud and the dealer has yet to fix it after bieng there 10 times for the same problem..ive been thinking of throwin a lemon at them for it but we'll see. anyone have a clue of what is causing this click? it seemed to happen right after getting my pedals installed which was at dealership and had them change bushings etc...also if car is sitting for a while it doesnt start clicking right away it takes a bit after chnaging gears.....???

Im use to a Int Type R clutch, which feels like a feather. Ive only been driving my 35 for 2 months. So i'll guess i'll have to get use to it.

If you need to have the clutch depressed more than 10 seconds put it in neutral.

Numerous people have had this issue including me. There is a bushing pin in the
linkage that may be loose/defective and need to be replaced.

Test drive the BMW 330, that clutch is light as feather. Hard to tell where the friction point is too.

if you are in traffic you should be able to put it into 1st and let off and the car goes without giving it any gas as long as you are on a flat sloped road or > 2-3% incline. Test it out it really works.

lol +1 i never knew about this. I just felt it was useless straining my left leg to hold the clutch hahah. If you think the clutch is stiff, drive it in 10-20 degree weather.

I've always wondered if this was a function of engine power, or something else?

That's how I set off from a stop in my Z06 - just let off the clutch, no gas (and it will roll on its own power up to about 20kph before it needs gas) - tried it in a friend's car and it just died, lol, so I've always wandered if that was a function of an engine w/ a lot of torque, or something else?

i do agree that the clutch on the G is on the stiffer side. i've owned many manual car before and the G is stiff compare to the others. when i first bought my G i thought there was something wrong with the clutch, so i brought it in to the dealer to have it looked at and they told that's how it is on these cars. after two months of driving it, i'm use to it now.

It's been a year and a half -- the OP's leg is probably stronger by now.
