Trassmission upgrade question.

I recently had a 2005 G35 loaner for the day or so as my car was being serviced for recalls. Now the loaner felt like the transmission was more responsive, and faster. Now I know this has been asked and a search was not accurate for me. So what I would like to know is what can I/we do to improve the responsive, and faster like the 05+. Maybe there anyway to get the trany software off the 05+? If not possible would it be good choice to get 2005+ trany or maybe even the 2007 if it works? Or is there any other options?

Thank you.

u didn't even mention if you have an auto or manual. or what year model. presumably the auto, 2003. there may be a software update available for you. search for tranny software upgrade on this site and take a print out to your dealer.

next option, get hypergrounding wires (search for gord's grounding gear)

that not enough for u, get a valve body upgrade

I had the same exact experirnce w/ my 2003.5 Auto. 2005 sedan loaner shifted wondefully with no hesitation. I found the solution, Gordee's grounding kit! It made my 2003 shift just as fast, smoother, and overall more responsive. Best bang for the buck mod I have done.

Well I did the software upgrade, it was a little crisper but that was all. I have the 03.5 Sedan. I would do the wire thing but I also liked how the software worked.

No - the trans are different from 2--3/4 to 05+. They do shift better.

You'll want to get a grounding kit for sure. PM SUNDEVILJAY and save a few bucks for a great kit that works just as well as any other, but for about $100 less.

I can be pretty hard on my car so that not the problem.

How many wire grounding kit should I be looking at? But I am still interested in seeing if there is any way I can get the 05 software or do I have to get the whole tranny to get the software? Thank you.

I've noticed this too. I've got my 03.5 5ATcoupe at the dealer, and I'm driving a 05 5AT sedan. The sedan is faster, no doubt due to the revup (I hope), but it does shift crisper and quicker than mine, and I have a 10 wire kit, including tranny and ecu. Yes, the wires made a difference on mine, but what is this tranny upgrade you speak of?

Is the more wires the better?
Tranny upgrade I talk about is the tranny software being upgrade to a newer firmware. But what I wanted to know was if we could use the 05+ firmware on our cars and if so how can we do it.

There is also a VB (valve body) mod. I think it's around $700 from performance Nissan (I'm pretty sure that's where I saw it). I know of a guy that put one in his Altima and then did a video. It shifted very fast!!!! I guess it should for 7 bills. I'll try to find a link if anyone is interested.

Yeah that sounds too much and then with installation and all. I think for me the best economical option would be to get the 05 software or something installed onto my car?

I think only the manuals got the rev up motor.
