I wasn't necessarily trying to get an '06 pumpkin into an '03, I was swapping my stock 3.3 vlsd pumpkin from my '03 G coupe for a 3.5 vlsd pumpkin which happened to come out of an '06 Z. There was some debate as to whether the companion flanges would have to be swapped from the old diff to the new one. This was not the case; the entire pumpkin was a direct replacement.

The shorter gearing (3.5) makes the car accelerate a bit faster at the expense of perhaps 1-2 mpg and a few mph of top speed.
