Auto tranny

Is this possible to ruin the tranny (auto) for doing hard acceleration frequently? I think mine has a problem on 1st gear for doing a lot of hard acceleration from dead stop after getting plenum spacer install.

Im thinking its the torque coverter not the tranny. It will operate normal at first then after about a couple of stop and go driving the grinding sound will start.

Transmission is designed for 100,000 normal [not WOT] shift cycles.
I'm sure it is possible to destroy one prior to 6 years/70,000 miles.
