Open Differential Fluid Change

Ummmmm so this is a dumb question, but I have little to no knowledge about tranny type stuff.

I always read about people flushing/draining their vLSD fluid. I have an open diff. though, do I need to do this too?

A simple no or yes will suffice. I'll look into the details once I get confirmation.

Simple answer is yes. All diffs need to have their oil changed at some point. For FWD cars, the diff is in the same housing as the tranny so only one oil change is needed. For us RWD guys, the diff is obviously in the rear in it's own housing coupled with the final drive gear and pinion.

Factory recommends 30K.

If you don't have your service manual, check out this link:

^^ I have my manual, but that's a great link! I'd rather read it online. Thank you.

30k is fine if its purely a street car. More often if you are tracking/autoxing the car on a semi or regular basis.
