Update:

Doesn't look like the Diff I was hoping would be avaliable, is avaliable. But, I want to do more work on the dealer/reseller level, currently talking to that first company on that front.

Until a dealer/reseller can be found to buy 30 unit's, the Quaife will not happen as per Quaife. I'm not sure I can put out a call for a OEM MT or AT LSD assembly on the hope their's a dealer/reseller willing to buy 30 units. We will see what happens, something like this won't get started overnight.

I am also looking for a lower rear end. I have a 2003 G35, 5AT with Performance Wheel and Tire (LSD). Count me in if we can get a good deal soon.

I hear really good stuff about Quiafe's work. I am very interested in getting one, but it would be nice if I didn't have to get the extra parts for the open-diff to vlsd parts conversion.

If you have a 2003 sedan, you would need the extra parts. If you have a coupe or a 2004 sedan that already has an LSD, you wouldn't need any extra parts.

Hopefully I'll have the VLSD core from the 6MT 350Z (from an owner on my350z.com) within a week. I'm thinking I shoud just have him ship it straight to Quaife. Those of you who talked to Quaife already - PM me w/ any details I need to include for the shipment.

That's good news. Thanks for taking an active part in trying to make this happen. If this product came to fruit I would definitely throw down 1K for it. Much prefer this over a clutch type.

Update:

1. I gave andyranck the address and contact at Quaife, hopefully he'll get the 350Z VSLD sent straight to them.

2. Quaife will sell the 30 units directly to us, no dealer. They will require 50% deposit. The cost is not known untill they get their hands on the 350Z diff we send them. The price should be decent as there is no dealer mark up and we get a volume discount. I'll let you all know the price once I get the word from Quaife.

3. I'll try to get to building a web site soon, so we can track all those interested.

Glad to know it's still in the works - I'm still down. I'm starting to hate the VDC now that the roads are dry but covered with sand (Sand: Turning New England into a beach one winter at a time) . Everytime I spin a wheel leaving a parking lot, the f'ing VDC makes the car lurch.

I hate to turn it off all the time, because it's saved my butt (and my G) a few times already.

 

Sorry this is taking so damn long. The 350Z owner is in europe on business right now, so no core has been shipped yet. I'm trying my best to get this deal squared away.

One last question, is Quaife going to basically destroy the v-lsd I send them. It would be nice if I got back a functioning v-lsd, just in case we don't ever do this group order.

I don't think they would destroy the vlsd. They just need to take it apart from what I understand. Now them putting it back together and shipping it back to you after they are finished is another question.

This is getting on my nerves. The only reason this is taking so long is that I wanted the guy's axle flanges with the deal (he got a Nismo.) Of course, the shop had to go and break/loose one of them, and now the owner hasn't shipped yet cause he's off in europe on business. Oh well...

My contact at Quaife ensures me that the diff we send them will be returned in the same condition as when we send it.

Also from my contact: "We may have to source an entire rear end with drive flanges to make sure everything is proper so if you or one of your colleagues has access to one please let me know."
