wait you are shifting and the rpms are dropping and then rising. Im not trying to be a jerk but it sounds like thats why we shift in a manual car. Sounds like your not rev-matching and your rpms are dropping before the clutch catches again...thus making them go back up. Search on here for rev-matching, but for kicks "blip" the throttle when you shift and the rpms wont drop as much.

Yea, I don't think he is trying to be a smartass. But elaberate more on your problem. From what you said, it sounds normal. We gas it>RPM's go up>we shift up>RPM's go down>We gas it>RPM's go up. So restate your problem so maybe we can give you more help.

^That should maybe clarify some things.

I was just saying that because when I first got my car and not too well first in driving stick fast in our kinda difficult cars, this is what I thought too. Its also because our stock clutch has such a high engagement point so it takes longer to work the clutch hence the rpms dropping with the clutch in longer and not rev matching

Hi everybody. I've had the car for 3 years and it's just starting to happen. I'll elaborate a little more. What's happening is after I shift and I'm accelerating the RPM will dip even though I'm pushing down on the gas. Then it'll rise up a little and then dip again. Hope that makes more sense. Thanks guys.

yep it sounds like your clutch is toast. it might be a great time to get an aftermarket setup for your clutch and flywheel.

Why not? Thats always fun. In all seriousness, that would suck!

so is this a sign of the clutch slipping? Is that what you mean when you say "shot"? I don't understand why the RPM would dip when pressing the gas pedal and then shooting back up. IMO, this would be a sign of throttle, sparkplug, or a sudden burst of air but not making the combustion immediately

I thought a sign knowing that the clutch is slipping is when your on a cruising speed and you mash the gas pedal while on a higher gear, if the RPM increases and the car barely moves, It's slipping.
