5 different valve bodies?
SGP tells me that swapping out valve bodies isn't that easy because there are 4 or 5 different ones for the G? I'm not sure if they mean stock valvebody or ones they upgrade? Either case, why would they have 5 different setups and why wasn't I told about these when I dropped the cash for one? I'd think I'd have some say.... If they mean 5 different stock valve bodies then why would nissan do that?
Sorry for the choppiness of this thread... Doing this from my phone. I'm in Houston now and the car has sat for 1 whole day, not been touched, they knew I was in for a limited time, was supposed to have everything ready, and now I'm getting the run around.
Is this the way SGP is? They've known about this appointment for 2 months and the problem with THEIR has tranny has been going on for 2 YEARS! Is the 4 or 5 different valve bodies an issue of them not wanting to do the work?

Ok, well. Does that mean they don't know what valve body they put in my car? If its an 04.5 they could have put a reworked 03 in there and now its screwed? I don't see the confusion by "we don't know which one is in your car, if we did it'd be easier" I put a brand new tranny in the car when I got their body installed, if this is what is messing up the car... I sure hope it isn't screwing up my new transmission with less than 5k on it...

Mark has looked over the car several times over the past year and half trying to get this issue resolved. He narrowed it down to the valve body they had put in and I was under the impression that they would be doing a swap and giving me a new valve seeing as how I live 250 miles away and could only be in town and off school and work for a limited time. I think that after so long I should be top priority to them to get me in and out. I spent several thousand dollars at SGP and even gave mark engine to use in exchange for only doing minor labor on the car and now they can't even get around to fixing this problem! When they had 2 months notice!

Sorry, engines* I think 5 or 6 total at "no cost" the only agreement was I'd buy the parts, he'd hook me up with the labor... So I did by parts.. One of them being their valvebody, and now the car hasnt run right and no one is doing the labor!
The car can't go over 4500rpm and has been that way since about September of 2007!

I'm not exactly sure what to tell you. Just get a hold of them. Sorry homie.
It sucks to have a crapped out tranny though. Candian has had issues with his tranny and it's f'in annoying.

Well, I just think its irresponsible for a "major" tuner you have worked with many times before to have 2 months notice, not have one thing ready, and then the owner and guy who is supposed to work on your car leave town. I mean, I've never heard of Sharif or Julian doing this to anyone... So I'd like to hear from some of the other tuners on the board.
Sounds like BBB case to me... I know people have had issues with SGP before.

There are different VBs depending on the year of the car. Recently troubleshooting an 03, finall saw the TCM as well as some relay I've never seen in the passenger side kick panel.
So you got a VB mod from them a while back and it hasn't been running right. You than got a new transmission? Where's the VB that came with the new transmission?

If you put a new tranny in, they might not be able to determine which vb you need by your vin. They would have to get the tranny p/n or s/n and research it. But I don't see why they couldn't have modded the VB that came with the new tranny. I assume the new tranny functioned fine before they messed with it?
Rookie. Yes, the early Gs came with a tranny that has the TCM outside the tranny. Right below the engine ecu.

When the old tranny went out, the original, I ordered the new one. Before the new tranny and everything ever even went into the car it was taken to SGP. All the work was done on it there. They them took out the old one, gave it to me, turn put fue brand new tranny with 0 miles and the upgraded valvebody on the car.
Now the problems are still there and I try to give them fair warning I'll be down and this is my only free time I can be out of town for a few days at a time (work and school) and Mark leaves before I ever get to Houston?
Like I saaid, new tranny has less that 5k on it. I hope the vb isn't causing any extra wear on things. Its 250 miles each way and I've been down 3 times to trouble shoot and this would have been the first time of them
actually doing any work.

Jeff, unless they saw my new tranny and decided not to use it? I mean I don't know if they actually used it in my car or not... I don't know how I'd tell unless I would have made a mark on it, ya know? Maybe that is where the confusion is coming from... Maybe the tranny I bought isn't in my car?

rookie, I agree.
Istan, you're right. Thats what happened. But the car had issues before, they said the tranny was going out... I bought all the new stuff.... And of still doesn't work. So the tranny was probably fine since the issue is still the same with the car. So really, they made me spend me spend thousands on something I may not have needed.
