quietest clutch/flywheel combo's ??

Hey im looking to buy a clutch/flywheel combo as soon a i get an answer here, i was going to buy the JWT combo but everyone is saying its really loud and i DO not want that at all. Also if none of the combos are quieter is there any place where i can get a stock flywheel for cheap ?? thanks

Quite curious about this myself. Reading through posts, it sounds like every aftermarket combo is going to be lower than stock.

Anyone know of a lightened flywheel + clutch that is as quiet, or more quiet than stock?

There is none, all aftermarket flywheel are single piece so they will chatter

the reason why aftermarket clutch/flywheels are loud is because the stock clutch is dual mass or double the weight in order to be quiet, most aftermarkets are lightweight for performance but they are louder because of that

I had the ACT prolite flywheel with the ACT street clutch. Def. not quiet! Took the prolite off it was so bad.

quoted for truth

you will NOT find an aftermarket clutch/flywheel setup that is made for quietness and comfort there's just not much of a demand for it at all. OEM is as good as it's gonna get

If you are looking for quiet, stick with stock. I have an Exedy clutch/flywheel combo which isn't too bad but it is not quiet. It's quieter than the JWT clutch/flywheel IMO.

If you were to keep the OEM clutch, but swap for a lighter flywheel, would it remain as quiet, or close, as the full OEM setup? Is this even possible? (Not sure how they mate together and such...)

Guess a better way of saying this: Is the noise due to the flywheel? the clutch? or the combination of the two?

No. The primary noise driver is the flywheel.

The clutch is more about drivability for different applications.

get jwt clutch and a stock flywheel. keep the one youve got if you can... these things are EXPENSIVE. a stock flywheel will run you around 800

No. The primary noise driver is the flywheel.
Guess that says it all. I'm not concerned about the grabbing, since shes only N/A, but less rotational mass and quicker rpm acceleration/deceleration would have been nice.

Sounds like OEM is the way for me. Well, at least until I get even more obsessed with this car.

Thanks everyone.

From all the ones I have heard the Unorthodox has the least noise.
