Sticking Clutch Pedal (bad clutch???_)

When releasing my clutch pedal it sometimes sticks midway between fully pressed and fully depressed. I'm wondering if this is an indication that it is time for a new clutch? If it is the clutch, Nissan quoted me $750 for the job. Is that a good $?

Has this been happening to any of you guys???

34,000 miles on the car...

Remove the carpet that is around and below the cluth pedal. Look to see if there is fluid leaking at all. Also, get under the car and see if you can see signs of leaking clutch fluid. Sounds like a broken master cyl. seal.

This isn't an uncommon issue with Nissan, my Z clutch pedal would stick to the
floor until I would pull it back by hand. Had my hydraulic clutch cylinder replaced twice. Seems there's a rubber plunger that begins to leak and when
it gets bad enough you lose pedal. It's an internal leak within the cylinder
itself so you can't see fluid on the outside.

What if the clutch pedal is sinking? I adjusted it and it's sinking some more... I haven't noticed a decline in brake fluid but I will use a marker to indicate the current level just to be sure.

your thoughts?

Adrian

enjoy that warranty

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. I mentioned it to the dealer and they knew exactly what the issue was. Luckily my warranty is still good. When it happened , I went to look under my hood to get a wiff of my burning clutch and my hood POPPED. Seems like I have faulty hinges that are also covered under warranty. Dealer knew about that issue too. She said to schedule an appt and they'll put it in the body shop for two days and get me in a loaner. While it's in the body shop, I'll see what I can do to have them paint the whole front end. Luckily I haven't had any OC issues, but if I do... I'm glad to have found a good dealer to work with. People have asked me why I drive an hour to get my oil changed... it's worth the extra piece of mind to know they'll take care of me.

i have the same problem... only when i took my car to inifiniti they notified me that the previous owner was in a front and rear collision (that did not show up on carfax, but somehow is documented via police report!??) ... so they pinned the clutch problem on the accident and said sorry we can't fix it for free WTF?!!?
how hard is the fix... i know a guy that's real good with cars, schooling to be a mechanic... is it something we should be able to take care of without botching my whole clutch... and any idea how much $ for parts, since we'll be doing the labor?

Darn i'm having the same problem! Let's see what PEPE Infiniti has to say abou this.

Do you think the absence of and engine cover would void my warranty?

Ive had this happen to me a lot. The dealer gave me a hard time to fix the issue. They finally fixed it. A couple of months later it happened again. I just pump the clutch and it pops back out at times. The tech says it cause I drive to aggressive and it cause the clutch to get hot. I call bs cause i dont shift past 4k and thats only to hear the exhaust
