Tilton 8lb flywheel & clutch installed

I had my transmission replaced yesterday and while they were at it I decided to have them install the tilton flywheel and clutch combo. The stock flywheel and clutch weighs 46lbs. and this weighs 16lbs. Needless to say this thing now revs like a street bike. There is quite a bit of noise at idle and I need to get a little more used to the clutch. This setup is not for everyone, it takes the luxury away for sure, but it is fun to come next to someone and hit the redline in .2 seconds!!!

Performance Nissan, you can look them up on my350.com. The clutch and flywheel package is $1300. It is a dual cerametallic disc that is only 7.25 inches in diameter, which adds to how quickly it revs. JWT is a 12" clutch.

Hey Joe you still owe us some day-time pics of the ride.

Damn our cars already rev fast enough that you have like no time to react and its already about to hit the rev limiter.

Re: Tilton 8lb flywheel & clutch installed

man, it is not even close to fast enough for me. its waaay too slow. i espescially hate having to slow down my shifts to wait for rpm to drop every stinking shift. cant wait for a tilton.

hows the streetability of it though? are you having trouble with it?

Re: Tilton 8lb flywheel & clutch installed

Do you think you can make some vids of the tach going up and down?
or better yet, get someone to take a vid of you going through the gears would give us a good idea of how things will be different.

I definitely know what you mean about waiting for revs to drop... but I think I would go for something like what the nismo weighs

Re: Tilton 8lb flywheel & clutch installed

Drove it around all over today and I am getting much better with the clutch. It is very grabby but with more and more practice it will be fine. I would love to do some videos I just don't know how to post them, or what to do with them after I take the video. Maybe one of you guys can help me out with that?

I shot some angles that I haven't seen much on here. Thought I would share them.
