Manual tranny noise, rattle, normal? 06 g35

I have an 06 g35 coupe manual with 25k on it. I bought the car with 16k and have always heard this rattling noise at idle and especially when the car is warm and I shut it off. I thought it might be the throwout bearing, but when I took it to the dealer, they said it was the gears spinning in the tranny and when I press the clutch it engages everything and goes away. They told me this was normal but it is so loud and annoying. I have to confirm but I also believe it makes the noise when I am driving in gear. Is this normal, or should I go to another dealer to try to get it fixed?

When you turn the car off is it in neutral with no clutch when you hear the noise? If so, its most likely the throwout bearing. Our cars are famous for that. I say do a search on the forum and I am sure you will find your answers in more detail. If you are hearing it while clutch is engaged or driving then you might have them take another look and have them take a ride with you so you can replicate the noises for them. But if its only at idle with the clutch out in neutral then my opinion is that everything is fine. Hope that helps.

I have an 06 with not even 9600k miles on it and I hear it. If you engage the clutch while you turn it off you won't hear that sound. I have even spoken to people on our boards and they said that they made the dealer change the clutch and flywheel and 1,000 miles later the noise came back. it is normal for our cars unless we go after market clutch and flywheel.
