What you guys have described is the same problem that I have as well. It has only happened twice to me, both times i was shifting from 1st to 2nd at about 5000-6000 rpms and the clutch got stuck halfway. It was also on days where the ambient temp was probably in the 90's. Anywho, dealer says no go on the clutch slave. If it happens again, I will print out this whole thread, and even go to a higher up if necessary. There is absolutely no problem with the clutch other than normal wear from only 26,000 miles on my car. Hell, I can still dump the clutch and get the wheels to break loose. But dissapoints me that during more casual driving, that the clutch would get held up. To be honest, for those of you who have had their clutch slave replaced, can you guys attach a service reciept. It may help those of us who are not having success at the service dept.

Finally found this site and looks like it's not uncommon (though 6sp sedans are). Clutch pedal sticks about 1/3 of the way down to full engagement. Transmission engages okay (it seems) but so aggravating to have to put foot under the pedal to pop it back out.
Also, only happens when it's hot outside so it magically goes away when winter rolls around. Dealer seems to hint they know somethings up but they can't recreate it.
Should I point them to the Master Cylinder? Slave Cylinder? Is it all one unit or can thay be swapped out individually. This car has 24k miles on it and it has been babied like no other so this problem is very annoying to me.....any help or tips are appreciated
>>>> UPDATE <<<<
Finally got a Tech who could look at my car when the symptoms were happening. He took it back and said that the plunger on my Slave Cylinder seemed to be sticking so he lubed it up somehow and it hasn't happened since. I was so wary, I drove it for about an hour after leaving the dealer in the 90 degree heat expecting it to reoccur, but it didn't. Has been a week and so far so good. Hope that's all it was.

wow why is it that all of you have such a bad taste in your mouth with dealers?
i have seen this problem with many differant fixes slave, pressure plate, and master cylinder. If you can automatically rule out a pressure plate from what needs to be done then you must be better at my job than i am. I didn't read the whole thread i am just amazed that all of you hate the dealer so much yet when something can't be fixed by a friend or whatever you have no where else to go. I have seen this so many times people bring in things from the forum hand them to me tell me to replace this, sorry but i don't do my job like that i never have and i never will i will diagnose it i will fix it and you will be happy 9 times out of 10 when someone comes in to tell me to fix a part they know is bad.....oddly enough thats not the problem at all. Keep that in mind let us do our job.
Dealers as a whole arn't bad an single dealer can be but i mean come on cut us some slack we are all under a lot of pressure from the higher ups to do our job correctly and make sure things are fixed well. I am sorry if you don't like the prices but to say all dealers are crap by using the phrase stealership is wrong and i take offense to that since i do take great pride in my job and my work.

Hey now. Great thread.
I have 06c MT n/a with only 20k. It's mostly DD with weekend spirited driving through the hills. I drive moderately aggresively, but never have tracked the car. I smoked the clutch a couple times and have had the sticking clutch pedal thing (but only once). Anyway Xmas is coming and I'm thinking aftermarket upgrade. I'm leaning toward Nismo flywheel/clutch combo beacuse it seem like a good fit for my needs (agrresive DD), and the ? security of geniune NISMO. Is there a better way to go ? Also trying to keep the total under 2K. Thanks for feedback.

common problem with Gs in hot weather. I replaced clutch fluid with an extractor, pump clutch alot, more fluid, pump, more fluid using synthetic higher temp clutch/brake fluid. No problem at all since-three months now over summer. this fix really works, learned from a vette guy who sez vetts have same problem in hot weather and spirited driving.

I did the same exact thing as you... haha and my buddy has a z06 vette and he told me the same thing funny, but honestly i havent had a problem in over a year
