gotta put it on a diagnostic scanner to see if it has codes for a solenoid failure(hopefully you just get a failure of a solenoid), but based on my experience with tranny's if the solenoid fail, it wont even shift to 5th. Since the tranny goes to 5th but feels like it slips its probably a blown lip seal in the 5th gear drum causeing the clutch packs not to engage to its full potential. Coupe of rounds of this will be enough to burn up the entire clutch pack. BTW I rebuild tranny's for a living. Leme know if I could be of any help

jjyellow you have been a tremendous help. Good to hear from an expert. Wish you were close to me, I'd have you fix it lol. Seems by what you're saying is right. It's exactly that. It slips almost and it does go into 5th gear so, by what you're saying it's def not a solenoid issue. Since tomorrow is a holiday, it will be parked in the garage and not moved and most likely not for the next 4 days unless I get the car in to a transmission shop. Would like to get it sometime very soon though.

However, is it ok to drive on it? I won't be since I don't want to cause anymore issues. But just for future reference.

ok. i use manumatic mode anyway. I drive home tonight in 4th. I only tried 5th 2 times to see if it still did it. Once I saw it was doing it, I kept it in 4th

Sooo the computer just threw an SES light. Now I KNOW somethings wrong for sure. Does the SES light mean anything inparticular pertaining to my problem?

Well good news. I am covered under powertrain warranty until 70,000 miles so I am good to go. Bringing her in wednesday to get her fixed up. Pretty sure I have to get the tranny rebuilt unless they find something else when they are working on it. Just figured I would post up and let everyone know

Keep us updated on what happens Gfreak.

Makes me not want to drive aggressive anymore. I may have to sell my HKS, b/c thats the main reason I punch it--to hear that awesome note.

how long is the pwr train warranty again?
