What gear oil for an 04 g35 MT?
I just got an 04 g sedan w/ mt about 2 weeks ago. I was taking fluid samples to have tested for any kind of wear.
While taking the tranny sample, I lost my hold on the drain plug, and dumped most of the gear oil on my driveway. I called the dealership to find out what type of fluid to put back in. They told me 85w90. So I filled it up with that.
Now when the engine is cold, I hear the tranny whinning like crazy. It goes away a few minutes later. And it has become harder to shift into 1st and 2nd gear.
Im afraid I'm gonna tear the tranny up if I dont get the correct fluid in there. can anyone tell me what is really supposed to go in there? I dont want a simple mistake to cost me thousands.
Ive had bad experiences b4 w/ dealerships, and I think they told me the wrong stuff intentionally to mess up my tranny, and get it in there for service.
