A/T slipping

My reverse gear was acting strange so I brought it to the dealership. They told me my reverse gear is slipping. OMG this is ridicules! I only have 74000 miles and its an 05 g35x. How is this possible? All the A/T cars I had b4 never had a problem with its transmission! The sad thing is the factory warranty just ended at 70k miles and I have 74k miles. I'm going to call the infiniti headquarters tomorrow and ask if they can help me out. Hope that works.

I did get a transmission flush done a month ago, I think that might have caused the reverse gear to go bad even faster. Also they checked out the transmission oil and told me it was already brown. which is a sign of slippage.

Just got couple of questions:

- How much would it cost me to replace my transmission?
- What would I have to replace?
- Are auto transmission similar to manual transmission? Do they have flywheels, clutch, and etc.?

thanks guys.

Not replacing 10 quarts of worn ATF at ~30k and 60k is sure to allow a faster failure.
Most 5AT last thru 70k warranty with zero mainteance, most last to 100k and beyond depending on driver and local conditions and the luck of draw.

Why should Infiniti offer assistance when you could have purchased an extended warranty to 100,000 miles?

Brown ATF is too late to flush, it must be maintained red and sparkling clean

It should be less than $4,500 depending on labor rate

I didnt expect the transmission to go bad this early. I did get a transmission fluid change around 32k miles and got a flush at 72k miles. Ive never exprerience this before on any A/T cars ive owned. I didnt expect this at all! I dont even push my car hard at all. You would never expect this on a infiniti at 74k miles.

I called infiniti headquarters today and they told me that they would get back to me on monday. I hope they can help.!
