QUAIFE 6-Speed Sequential!

I've been planning a 6-speed conversion for a while and now I'm glad I waited

Max power rating is a little low. 5 acceleration gears is pretty cool. 10k

"The new Quaife 6-speed heavy duty in-line RWD sequential gearbox has been designed as a direct replacement for the Nissan 350Z gearbox, and incorporates a modular gear cluster on 80mm shaft centres.

Quaife has returned to its first principles with this new heavy duty in-line gearbox, opting for a cutting edge, clean-sheet design. The result is a new 6-speed sequential unit, the QBE60G, which weighs in at just 38 kilograms. (plus bellhousing and gear lever mount)

Designed for rear wheel drive applications capable of handling up to a maximum of 400 lb/ft and 450 bhp, the QBE60G offers ultra-rapid and smooth gearshifts, allied to superior strength and reliability, and even features paddle shift compatibility.

The Quaife 6 speed heavy duty in-line RWD sequential gearbox has been designed with open face dogs on both the gears and drive discs to allow for easier gear inter-changeability.

The Quaife 6-speed heavy duty in-line RWD sequential gearbox has a drum type sequential gearchange system which produces a positive engagement with the gear lever position options.

QBE60G customers can specify long and short input shaft options QBE60G according to customer preference and three ratios sets are available, in either straight cut or helical tooth forms.

This gearbox has a NEW bellhousing and ger lever mount to fit the standard Nissan 350Z positions.

The QBE60G uses standard Nissan clutch and release bearing (not included) and standard Nissan output flange pattern.

Current ratio options are:-
1st 2.769
2nd 2.057
3rd 1.579
4th 1.260
5th 1.104
6th 1.000 "

I wonder what is all needed to swap this into an AT..

i apologize if this is a dumb question, but whats the major difference between the use of straight cut and helical gears, are straight cut stronger ? Also would this essentially allow for clutchless WOT upshifts and clutchless downshifts ? I'm not looking to buy one, just curious.

Straight cut is stronger but noisier. Clutchless upshifts are allowed for ultra fast shifts. With those gear ratios, this tranny is meant for high revving N/A engine with short powerbands. This is why the power rating doesn't seem too high.
