05 Auto vs 6mt
just get what you want.... would you marry a **** who is very sexy? like someone said.... if your going to be moddin you car and are really into the whole control thing, wait for an MT or save up a bit more... Automatics are designed for a reason.. doesn't mean you have to get one because you found a good deal on it...
personally, i love 6MT (especially for the 05+, your getting an extra 18 ponies)... but my girl unfortunately cannot drive MT so I got an automatic.. nothing makes me happier then to see her drive my car. The price point for an automatic / manual was about the same when I purchased it so i didn't really lose out on anything... i'm too busy surfing the net rather then shifting gears :P

Haha that is great, I laughed pretty hard. Great point though, I'm thinking along those lines now though and will be patient until I find the 6mt for me
WRONG. I'm assuming you haven't driven manual, but wow does it really let you feel the speed of the car. Auto (even tiptronic) is just so boring. I really couldn't explain it, you'd just have to go test drive a 6mt
I actually used to ask that same question. I thought "well why wouldn't you want an auto? It can shift faster than any human can, and I wouldn't have to spend money changing the clutch".

In some cars, bmw 3 series for example, the manual would lose every time, even if you had the best driver in the world. Because the sports drive (when you slap it to the right, in drive), will shift at the highest safe rpm (still above redline) and shift in something like milliseconds (yes, even in regular steptronic shifting, it shifts much much faster than a manual driver could), something no manual driver could do. And that is with normal auto steptronic transmission, not even dual clutch smg. I'm not sure about Infiniti's though, I didn't mean to say that for them because in the manuals they have more HP and torque. I can't imagine how slow the G's auto must shift though to be slower than a manual driver. I don't think a manual driver could shift faster in a manual G than an auto G. I'm no genius though, I'm on here learning stuff about the G's from everyone else, not gonna argue with you lol you probably know your **** more than I do, but that's my $0.02.

Reasons MT is better:
If all you want to do is point at the car and say "go", then you don't want a manual.
Fuel economy: going with a manual transmission is probably going to be your best bet if you know how to drive it.
Maintenance/Repair costs:
Even though the automotive world has come extremely far with refining automatic transmissions, most automatic transmissions still need to be serviced far more often than manual transmissions (some auto manufacturers state that their manual transmissions never have to be serviced with fluid changes, etc. )
The acceleration offered from a vehicle when equipped with a manual transmission is usually superior for a number of reasons; most predominantly due to gear ratios and the availability for more precise shifting. To explain, if you own a car that receives 200 horsepower @ 7,000 RPM, but your automatic transmission will up-shift under full throttle at only 6,000 RPM, you probably will never feel the full amount of power that your engine was made to offer. So, your engine may be stamped with a 200 horsepower rating, but because your car is equipped with an automatic that up-shifts too soon, you may be missing up to 20% of available power. On the other side, with most manual transmissions, you can usually take the engine revs to redline (or past). This enables you to get the most power possible to the front, rear, or all 4 wheels under full throttle take-offs.
Friends/loved ones will be less likely to borrow your car, because they're not able to operate it, which brings further incidental savings.
While most cars do not have this large of a 0-60 MPH gap between auto and manual transmissions, 99 percent of the time you will receive noticeably better performance from a manual gearbox.
Automatic transmission can't anticipate what you're going to do next. Manual transmission you have control over what your car is doing.
A manual transmission permits you to control torque independently of acceleration, which is an essential ingredient to driving control.
THE FUN
Other MT vs AT arguments summary lol. But yea.. MT will always be a better choice when buying a SPORTS car. If your modding and trying to feel power then its obvious.

6MT Coupe
I drove both 6mt and a 5at when I was shopping for mine years ago. IMHO, the coupe was meant to be a 6mt hands down and what I bought. No regrets what so ever.
I own a 5AT and personaly I think its boring. Im gonna trade it in for a 6mt when a good one comes around and will prolly end up spending 1-2 g's.
So make the right choice now so you dont pay for it in the end.

every auto I've ever tried to own, I've had to sell because it instantly becomes a boring car. Most people aren't like that...but if you're debating between the two because your heart secretly needs a manual, get a manual or you're going to regret it later.
