Letting foot off of gas pedal

When you are in MM, who lets off the gas when shifting?

the only time I've seen it was a manual coupe driver - test driving Stillen's supercharged AT Sedan... she kept letting off the gas when she shifted in MM... I kept telling her "Floor it and shift!"

hmmm, I dont know... I've owned several MT and driven many... this is the first MM AT and it never occurred to me to let off the gas... it was instinctive from day one - accelerate while shifting...

I foot on gas and shift, though I might start taking my foot off for 2>3 since that always slams into gear lol. (yea its a common thing I know)

I do...sometimes I lessen the pressure so much its like feathering the throttle when I gas back in....No slams over here

I do both.. most of the time just keep in down while shifting... once in awhile I catch my self letting off the pedal..
though without letting off the pedal the car shifts quicker

I usually throttle down when shifting.

Not letting the foot completely off the gas but I just let it go a little so it does not jump into the gear.

But mostly if you shift at the proper rpm you don't need to throttle down.

I usually shift at 2000-2500 RPM so don't throttle down when shifting.

On automatic Nissans/Infinitis the ECU kills power for a split second during a gear change to lessen the shock on the drivetrain.

Interesting... Never thought about shifting while throttling down making a difference with MPGs. Care to share more
