Yeah a lot more smooth. I always felt like the trans and I were fighting each other. But now not a whole lot of effort is needed to shift the car. Most my miles are on on the toll road to work and back. But I have done one hard track day at Gingerman and it shifted no differently. It hasn't ground or skipped once. You would think it shifts different under load, but it doesn't.

G35-TX:

Mine has a December, 2003 build date, purchased March, 2004. I have 10,500 miles, no racing, skip shift regularly when practical (always have, in all my MT's), and only occasional hard runs up through the gears (never even hit the rev limiter, yet) - STILL, recently started grinding 1st to 2nd during hard acceleration, and 5th to 6th every time I shift quickly (even at low 3,000 - 3,500 RPM's). Looks like the problem wasn't solved by 12/2003, either

Tranny has always been notchy and balky in the lower gears, and the shift gate unusually tight. I'm watching and waiting, figuring I'll need the new tranny soon - it sure sounds like yours is a big improvement - let's see after 25,000 miles or so ..keep us posted, TX !

Re: 6MT Problems and Dealer not wanting to fix

Update. After a big fight 2 days ago with the dealer because they still haven't ordered the parts and kept saying its not being duplicated when everytime we take the car it it does it, they finally ordered the parts on Tuesday. New Tranny, and other needed stuff. I should have my car back by Friday he said. Woohoo.

Transmission has been replaced and works really well. Hope it lasts! Parts came in this morning, in my hands that evening!

Re: 6MT Problems and Dealer not wanting to fix

Glad to hear it was fixed. 2 days, hell I would have loved that. Took me two weeks!!! Needless to say when my Inf customer survey came last week I added a few typed pages to it explaining my disgust for the way things were handled. Not sure why I bothered, no one will care anyway.

Yeah same here. Was a bit hard at first, but once I got it home (about 100 miles away from dealer) and drove to work a couple of times it loosened up a bit.

Re: 6MT Problems and Dealer not wanting to fix

I am having the same problem but with shifting into 5th. Good to hear that it's covered. Yea they stop sending the customer surveys once you send one bad review back to them. I haven't recieved one since i gave them negative comments. Looks I'll be going top the dealer for a tranny. Thanks for bringing this up.
