Exedy stage 1 with stock flywheel on 2005 coupe 6mt
Well I just had my Exedy stage 1 clutch kit installed on my 2005 g35 6mt with a resurfaced stock flywheel and everything is perfect no chattering clutch pedal is a little stiffer from the new pressure plate but no big deal. The clutch engagement is a little lower on the pedal but it feels like a new car shifting thru the gears. I can't wait for the break-in period to be over.

the mechanic did, the thing is that the flywheel was actually in great condition with 60k miles on it so it was lightly resurfaced. it wasn't like a machine shop resurfacing he did it by hand and Im really impressed with the results.

My situation is I have a 2005 G35 Sedan 6MT with 76K miles and my clutch disc needs replacement. I am doing research and am considering purchasing an Exedy or other reputable brand clutch over OEM. You all are a huge help in my process! We will see how it goes.
A few questions for antodiaz:
1. How much did you pay for the Exedy Stage 1 clutch?
2. How much did you pay for clutch installation?
3. How much did you pay to resurface the flywheel?
4. How long is the break in period?
5. Where did you get the exedy clutch?
6. Did you do any pedal adjustments?
6. Although its still early, do you have any issues now?
Mind you I am a newb. I read from another forum on break in period.

1. I paid $385 for the exedy stage 1 clutch kit on ebay
2. The mechanic charged me $200 for the installation took him about 6 hours and he did the resurfacing since the flywheel was in excellent condition
3.^^^^^
4. according to the instructions break-in period should be 750 miles
5. ebay. one of the sellers has a buy it now or best offer so I offer him $385 and he accepted the offer
6. no pedal adjustments it was harder than the stock clutch due to the higher clamping force on the pressure plate but it has gotten softer and it will engage a little bit lower.
7. 500 miles into it no issues at all.
hope this helps by the way Im located in Clearwater/st. pete, FL in case youre from FL and would like to go to the same mechanic he is pretty good and well known locally

Don't do it!!!! Long story short after about 4 months the throwout bearing started making noises couple weeks later clutch is gone!! The bearing literally fused to the pressure plate and burned the heck out of the flywheel anyways I had to replace the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel ($750) not including labor. After that I went with the oem clutch that is actually made by Exedy and an ACT flywheel. Problem solved. Also the pressure plate on the stage 1 has hard as F$&k.
