transmission issues...again! Anyone else with this issue
Hey guys
I have an 05 cope 6mt and just found out i'm getting another new tranny, luckily under powertrain warrenty.
So what its doing is gridding going into 5th gear. it did the same thing at 2400 and was replaced and how doing it again at 58000. THey said its the syncros which is what I thought but why 5th and why again. I could see if it was 1st or 2nd being my fault maybe, but I do'nt race and dont push it to hard.
Also, they offered to replace my flywheel and clutch for parts only, won't charge labor. I have just under 60k, do you guys think its worth the almost 1500. Do you think they would mount up a stillen kit?
Does anybody have any thoughts or suggestions

My transmission was replaced about 5k miles ago, grinding going into 5h and 6th at any speed and at any rpm from any other gear. Now it's doing it again, the dealership said it wasn't a common problem. I'm thinking about changing the gear oil and seeing if it helps. I doubt they will install aftermarket parts for you but you never know.

1500 is too much for oem .. get an aftermarket clutch.. they'll put it in.. JWT is cool.. dealer put mine in for 100 bux while replacing motor from the oil consumption issue.. trouble is.. if you have tranny probs again.. they'll say its the aftermarket clutch.. but.. you'll be outta warranty anyways.. i'd do it....
get the jwt kit. and make sure your clutch master and slave are freshly bled with new fluid and working properly. if its in the trans, let em put another one in. lol its warranty. even if you're outside your warranty 5-10k miles after this one. they will still warranty it.
my trans sometimes feels odd, i'm going to bring it in soon and have em takea look inside or something, going in and out of a few gears is messed. mostly second and fifth, haven't had problems with fifth in a while though.
If you don't replace the clutch/flywheel at the same time make sure they resurface the flywheel at least. Might want to talk to the dealership about wether or not they'll install an aftermarket clutch/flywheel combo before you go out and buy it. I worked for the chevy dealership here in town and we'd have people who would give us an aftermarket clutch to go in with their new transmission and we couldn't do it...violated factory terms or some crap like that....

got an act clutch from stillen, Dean cut me a great deal. dealer will put it in no problem. hopefully trans #2 holds up, bc first sign of this again, bye bye G...
online. search. or go to jwt's site and order. you arent supposed to resurface the stock flywheels since they are dual mass. besides....when your clutch is burnt out, the flywheel is toast anyways. make sure your trans fluid is to the proper level and you know how to drive....not grindin gears and such. its possible you could have a failing clutch master or slave cylinder.
i have an AT 03 sedan with 115200K tranny is slipping into fifth and popping going into forth. My transmission fluid is old nd burnt. change the fluid or not is the question. i have been told transmission fluid is vital to the tranny and must be replaced and that will solve all my problems. on the other hand ive heard that the old grimy fluid is actualy the only thing holding the transmission together. Man i'm confused if someone could clarify that would be awsome
