Transgo shift kit - 15% off
Thanks for the notice OP
Johnathan (or anyone else that has Transgo) - how are the downshifts?...
I'm tempted to get VB upgrade - but I've recently had Osiris Torque Management flashed to ECU; it causes higher line pressure and makes up-shifts snappy, but downshifts are slow and sloppy (something I will work with tuner on at some point). This is fine for drag strip - but spirited street and road course it sux!
Just want to be certain the Transgo kit doesn't affect downshifts at all...

Well, I only got to drive 5 miles in the rain after installing it today, but all I can say so far is WOW!!! Even after reading many other threads about it, I was still not prepared for just how quick and firm these shifts are. I like it
I thought that I might say something like "this is the way it should have been from the factory", but there's no way Infiniti will EVER make it like this, lol. Below about 3,000 RPM shifts seem unchanged, but above that they get progressively harder. My half worn stock tires were useless against it...they spun well into 3rd (in the rain, mind you). I didn't notice any difference in the downshifts yet. Can't wait to see how it does on dry roads. By far my best mod yet!

Still loving the firm shifting at WOT, but I've noticed that the medium throttle shifts (say around 3500) are a little firmer than what seems necessary to me. Those medium throttle shifts also seem to generate a rebound or rubber band type feeling, especially if I'm letting off the throttle right as it shifts.
The feeling is hard to describe, but I'm thinking that a firmer trans mount would help here. Does anybody make a urethane trans mount for the 5AT? I can only find one for the 6MT.

Oh yeah, I keep it in manumatic most of the time, but I usually let it shift itself up to 3rd or 4th. I'll try manually shifting more. I find myself avoiding that middle ground...either drive it like a granny or all out. It's like Jekyll and Hyde
