5AT Tiptronic: Shift when I say so!
Hey,
Wondering if, through the years I've been inactive, there's been a fix or accepted method of fixing the 'lag' or sometimes the failure to shift gears in tiptronic.
Driving my machine in D rarely makes sense, and 2nd to 3rd almost never changes when I tell it to.
Please spare your grounding kit myths- I'm grounded up the **** and it's had very little affect on my car and none so with shifting lag or failure.
Cheers!DOMO

I have sold over 500 of my custom kits and the reviews are 100% positive (check my itrader ratings). The kit will drastically improve the manual mode shifting.
PM me if interested.

Some people find that the grounding kits like the one sxexcx sells work really well (btw, dude's work seems great and is supported by many members), and for them its a low cost quick fix. Other people end up getting a VB upgrade. Transgo valvebody upgrade is probably what you want to search for if you go this route. Just a heads up though, the kit is not that expensive but the labor is what will get you. I would try the grounding kit first to see if it gives you what you are looking for.

Okay. Please read the OP.
I bought your kit years ago and it didn't fix my issue. I'm sure it still does what it's supposed to- but it did not cure this issue.
My tranny is FULLY BUILT. VB, clutch packs, bands everything- Congratsulations on the extra post but please read.
So again- besides grounding and building- do we know of a fix for this?
My battery has been disconnected multiple times

What is the shift lag reffering to? - I have a 5 AT and I have to give it at least 2 seconds between shifts, but it never has been an issue... I mean, from 5th to 3rd is def not like it would be in a manual, it goes to 4th and after 2 seconds I can go to third - does this thread imply there is a way to down shift and up shift faster ? - That would be cool just for the heck of it.

^I have Osiris
Not only do I notice lag, but sometimes it seems like the power drops off for a second around 4,000/4,500rpm, then continues on as normal. I still have the stock transmission though so I'm not sure if my tranny is slipping or if its the tune. The AFR was normal when this happens. Anybody experience this before?
