Exclamation Carbonetic LSD whining under acceleration

I have a Carbonetic clutch-type LSD installed on my car. It was very quiet and nice for the first month or 2 I had the car, but then it began to make clicking noises when I turned. I promptly had the oil changed.

Ever since, it has made a whining noise under acceleration. It is somewhat annoying, but I can live with it, I was wondering though, is it something I should be worried about?

I didnt get the oil changed after breaking it in. The diff was pre-used so I figured it had already been broken in (stupid, I know.)

Fixable?

Thanks

Carbonetic ATS LSD calls for fluid changes every 1800 miles. Believe it or not. I replaced mine with a Quaife to get rid of the maintenance issues. I believe the carbon debris ends up gradually changing clearances through wear and tear. Replace bearings and set backlash and it should be back to normal, for awhile.

Wow - I cant do every 1800 miles lol

Do you know where I can get the parts to do that? Or how much approx they will cost? Are bearings part of the diff, or part of the pumpkin?

I am thinking about getting a quaife too. Do you know if it will be drop in ready? My car is a 2003 5AT but I believe the SG motorsport swapped out the pumpkin with a VLSD-equipped one during the install.

I will be doing this swap myself hopefully.
