I have done some searching and haven't found my answer. This makes me feel as though this is a silly question. HOWEVER, I would much rather ask a silly question than spend a bunch of money on a paperweight..

I blew my engine in my 06 g35 coupe, 6mt. I am about to purchase an engine on ebay, but it says it only fits an 06 g35 with an Auto trans. Are these blocks transmission specific?

Like i said, I have done some searching and this may be a silly question, but I have had my g sitting for 2 years and i would really like to get something ordered quickly. Thank you for the help!

 

Yes, they are. Your car had a rev-up motor. The one on eBay is a none Rev up. Don't buy.

 

are the blocks and heads the same? like would my mechanic be able to just use the timing parts off my current engine?

 

The heads are definitely not the same. Block I'm not sure.
